Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Screws - less work absolutely brilliant product , saves time and labour. been working on electric fencing and the insulators have TX25 screws on them so it makes sense to use them for fitting too. ONE SMALL criticism is that the listing does not actually state was size the TX is .

Torx bit sizes

Struggling to understand Torx bit sizes. How do I tell what size bit for a particular size Torx screw? Is there a better alternative type as sick of pozis camming out.
Asked by: Rustic747
Hello Rustic747, There isn't a direct correlation for torx bits to say T5 is 5mm for example. A torx t5 bit is 1.42mm whilst a T10 is 2.74mm. These bits use a T27 bit. Thank you for using Q&A

Are these suitable for decking (externally graded)?

Asked by: agranik
Hello, These are corrosion resistant so could be used outside. However, decking tends to move alot (the wood expands when wet/shrinks when hot) because of this movement the screws need to be flexible. Decking screws are a much better option to use as they are designed to withstand the movement of the boards. Most normal woodscrews may not be flexible enough and could sheer/snap. Take a look at our decking screw range using the below link: https://www.screwfix.com/c/screws-nails-fixings/decking-screws/cat840048?cm_sp=managedredirect-_-screwsfixings-_-deckingscrew Thanks for using Q&A.
