Rated 5 out of 5 by from Triton JOF001 Router This is a great router and at a very good price from Screwfix it is advertised at a lot more on some other sites, screwfix has done it again both on price and delivery by the next day..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Bit Of Kit Bought this to complement the bigger router in the group, which is excellent. It shares many of the same features e.g. the very useful ability to raise & lower the router from above, when mounted in a router table. Another feature that I like is the automatic spindle lock, so you don't have to mess around with two spanners when changing bits. Also the fact that the collet stands well proud of the table top which makes changing bits very easy. the unit is comparatively quiet and smooth in operation & all in all is a great piece of kit. One major drawback (As other people have highlighted) is the absence of a 1/4" collet, which should be mandatory for a router of this size & power. The 6mm & 12mm collets which accompany the 1/2" collet supplied are almost useless in the UK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product Firstly let me clear up the base/guide bush issue: Buy a Trend Unibase. Remove the plastic base from the router and keep it along with the screws. The unibase will fit bit only with 2 screws and only with the screws that originally attached the plastic base to the router. You can then use any guide bushes from Trend. The reference to a 16mm bush in the unibase is only for zeroing the unibase. Buy a metal one to use when routing. The original plastic base needs to be kept as that is the only way to attach the fence and long base. Messing about requires but well worth it. It’s really powerful and not too heavy. I was also confused about the depth stop - there is an effective 3 pillar depth gauge. It works well as a plunge or fixed base.

Suitability for shop-built table

Can the winding mechanism be used in a home-built router table or is it only suitable for use with a Triton model?

Router Table Winder Handle

I intend to mount this router in a router table. Does this come with the router table winder handle? If so what range of adjustments can the handle make?
Asked by: Mac2000

Will this have the ability to cut a crisp edge using a long worktop cutter and jig on 40mm worktops, will it work with my guide 30mm bushes, or should i go for the bigger half inch router

Asked by: Curryandchips
It should cope with cutting the work top. It saved my bacon when my Festool OF2200 blew up on 3rd use. The problem you might have is attaching guide bushes, I think it required a proprietary base plate set TGA250 (nearly another £100). For that combined price you might be better off with other brands like Hikoki M12VE or Trend T10 which are twice the power and often supplied with or at least accept more common guide bushes.

What size is the central hole in the base plate

What size is the central hole in the base plate - i.e. what is the largest size of router bit that will pass through it? I have a 44mm dia T&G bit that is too large for my current router.
Asked by: RobofDenby
The baseplate has a ~77mm hole however there is a dust shroud within the base which has a ~50mm hole. The Erbauer Biscuit Cutter set (47mm) 65290 seems to fit but its close. Need to ensure everthing is centred correctly
