Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dreadful Bought to replace a 30-year old Bosch diy 500 Watt router. This is really built down to a price. Trend used to be a rock solid name - either this is a generic range filler or they've blown it completely. It will probably work as a carver without the base. All base parts are rough, supplied screws coarse, round headed to fit in csk holes. Going to take it back tomorrow. Avoid. Some people love it so maybe the quality control is what's bad. Buy cheap and regret it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value & Accurate I have had The Trend S/T4EK for around 8 years and while only used occasionally has proved reliable, accurate and robust over this time. I have used it to do the final cut on sink and hob worktop cutouts, certainly not what it was designed for, but taking shallow cuts it worked fine and left a good finish. I have found it to be accurate when used with a guide bush and template for door hinge rebating and with bearing router bits for trim finishing. Not sure what the negative reviewer's issue was here, but if they had a faulty one then return it, but to say don't buy is nonsense. This router generally gets very good reviews and I have confidence in recommending it. I recently bought a Trend T7 1/2" router as I have a positive experience with Trend, and it too provides excellent value and good build quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TREND 1/4" Only just received it/ trial run all parts working neatly packed/ can only give 4 on the basis its day 2 - If your getting serious or a tradesman you will also need the 1/2" model as well - this ones handy and light for small work - wouldn't fancy your chances attempting worktop joints, but any tradesman knows this- yes I would recommend (this week)???

Can this be used with a worktop jig?

Asked by: Taylee83
Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately the T4 router will only take 1/4" or 8mm shank cutters, and to cut through worktop you will need a 1/2" capacity router. 1/2" shank cutters are longer and the shanks are stronger, and the motor on a 1/2" capacity router will be more powerful, to cut through the worktop easily.
