Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says on the tin Does what it says on the tin, easy to use reliable wee thermometer

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Accurate for Legionella checks This would have had 5 stars but for two annoying points; The battery lid has to be held in place with a rubber band once you've changed the battery, as it keeps falling off otherwise. After less than 2 years use, the display has caput and the item useless. However, with the budget price, perhaps I'm asking too much, as when working it was faultless and gave comparable service and readings to far more expensive equipment. I've bought another to see if it lasts any longer, or if the previous one was a 'Friday Afternoon' version!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thermometer Excellent unit and performs very well Very light and comes with a spare battery

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well but silly design Works well, tested and compared to other thermometers. Only down side is that the 'off' button doesn't actually turn it off! All it does is stop it reading the temp and instead constantly say 'off' on the screen. As a result the battery gets drained really fast! I'm on the second battery already after only a month or so. Maybe that's why 2 batteries are included!

Proof of initial Calibration

I bought one of these back in January, however, I am being asked to prove that the device is calibrated. As it would have been checked when it left the factory, how can I prove this and what calibration period is recommended?
Asked by: Kayz
Your proof of purchase receipt should suffice as being in specification for the initial 12 months. We recommend that that any piece of electronic equipment should be serviced/calibrated/re-certified/checked annually. However, having said that the user of the equipment should be conscientious enough to check and understand that that piece of equipment is working correctly, before each job, if they are going to be relying on the results it gives.

Probably an obvious answer, but I assume the 82574: TPI Digital Pocket Thermometer is suitable for reading air temperature as well as liquids?

Asked by: Hfc1
Hello. This thermometer will read air temperature but it is specifically designed for reading temperatures in liquids and semi-solids. Hope that helps.
