Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be better The smart valves are quite good. The app is very basic compared to others on the market, other apps have an overview of temperatures, with the TCP app you have a list of rooms with no information, you have to go into each room to see the temperatures which is very annoying. Another annoying problem is when you change the temperature with the app sometimes it will change and sometimes it wont, and your spending more time than necessary double checking not good. I installed these throughout the house and it is saving me about 15 units a week of gas which is brilliant and that's down from 37 units a week, these will save you money by just keeping the rooms you use the most warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfect Instructions are simple, it’s pretty self explanatory. My radiator valve is in a tricky spot that’s hard to get access to, so to be able to control the room temperature via my smart phone does make my life easier. I can get access to the valve, it just means moving a lot of stuff around. Before I’d just set it on low b/c of this reason, but now I can adjust it throughout the night and day via the TCP app. A little pricy, but definitely cheaper than Tado, which doesn’t do anything different! Sometimes my internet connection might drop, but I think that’s just my household Wi-Fi’s fault not the product itself; if this does occur I can still adjust the knob MANUALLY by hand and it continues to work just fine. Re-connecting it is also not difficult, so I can control it via the TCP app.

Works with district central heating?

Do these valves work with a district heating system? I have no boiler and the hot water is always on. Thanks!

Compatibility with Nest

I have a nest thermostat with traditional manual radiator valves. Will the radiator valves work alongside Nest to give me control of individual radiators and will I need a Hub?

these valve do not work in conjunction with a Nest thermostat they are standalone. they are intended to allow you to set the individual temperature of each room when the main thermostat is calling for heat. Also the valves are intended to work with a zigbee bridge to allow access from the internet / app.

do i need the smart hub

I have the TCP smart app to control lights. will this app alone control your Smart TVR or do i need to but your Hub as well. for the first tvr?

Boiler control

Please confirm if this system will turn the boiler on/ off or does this just control the heat so the boiler has to remain on throughout

This does not turn the boiler on or off, it only controls the radiator it’s attached to. So the boiler does has to remain on, or on a timer. This is a thermostat and radiator valve, so it’s controlling the temperature in the room it’s in, by changing the amount the value is open. If your boiler is off, and you valve is completely open it won’t heat the room, just like a traditional radiator valve. The difference is this valve is digital and can be controlled via your smart phone.
