Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not fit for purpose Customer got one of these for me to fit, seemed a nice tidy way of terminating everything. This is the first and last time I will be fitting this range, may as well use clothes pegs to clamp cables. It’s a lot of messing about to try and get wires to be tight and not pull out. Also had connectors pulling of copper strip. The plastic starts to part in middle when cables are in place and only secured by copper conductor which Bends when pushing connector in. Had to swap some connectors with unused ones as couldn’t get wires to hold in. Wasted so much time fitting this. Had continuity problems afterwards and something actually popped inside when putting my test probe on terminal. Will be sticking to taking feeds to lights or switches or wago boxes

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good idea but... Appreciate the really good idea, but the product is very poorly made. The plastic is really flimsy and connectors an absolute nightmare to use. Bad connection can cause future problems or even fire! Update this product with better plastic case and screw on connectors and would be perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waste of time and money Got one of these to sort out the lighting circuits in my loft for my bedrooms before we have the loft floored. Wish i had just thrown my money off the Itchen Bridge that my have been more useful. In theory great but the connectors they have used are next to useless. Wish i had just stuck to junction boxes the old fashioned way. The item is flimsy and i dont think it would take much to break it. Like i said great in theory let down by poor construction and no instructions. Wasted 2 hours trying to9 get this bit of trash fitted and ended up going back to junction boxes with loop in and out. Save yourself time and money and look for somerging else

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy wiring solutions. I have been renovating an old building and adding an extension. These 'Surewire' boxes make the lighting wiring a doddle. Different boxes have different functionalities so ensure you get the correct one for your needs. This one I have used to connect Three independent lights in a room to a Three switch wall plate. No degree needed as all self explanatory. Great.

Can the power out connection be used to supply power for an extractor fan

Asked by: GCT69
Yes the power out can be used to power an extractor fan, provided it is operating on it's own switch. If the fan has a timer fitted then you will need to get the switch live from the S3 loop connection. Hope this makes sense and if you need any help then please call Surewire on 07787717497.

Hi - will these junction boxes accept 2.5mm twin & earth?

Asked by: Mike257
Yes the terminals will accept 2.5mm core cable and the cut outs can be widened to accept the extra width of the cable and our internal copper substrates are 2.5mmsq. However they are specifically designed for wiring lighting systems and as such must have a maximum of a 16amp fuse protecting for the circuit and not be used for ring mains etc.

Can a in-line extractor fan be incorporated

Asked by: Craig95
Hi, As an extractor fan has to have a live, switch live, neutral and earth it has to be wired up externally to the box. Thanks

Fitting a PIR

How do I fit a PIR sensor to a light circuit and switch that is connected using the surewire box? Is this possible
Asked by: ASMoon
Hi, The PIR Senor is effectively a switch and therefore can be connected to the switch connection on our box. This would be where the PIR only operates the light. If a switch is to be fitted as well to have a permanent light on at times when required then wire to our box as normal for the switch, but a link between the switch cable live and switch live (neutral) cables must be made with the PIR before the connections into our box. This will enable the switch to be used when required and when switched off the PIR will then take over and operate the light. Thank you.

Can these boxes be used for 2-way lighting ???

Asked by: GRC83
Yes they can. Run the twin & earth from the switch connection to the first 2 way switch and then 3 core and earth to the 2nd 2 way switch and it works perfectly. Thanks
