Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shower pump replacement Shower pump replaced with the same type. The whole job done in 15 mins. The pump runs well for a single shower bathroom. It’s not the quietest pump ever made but it does the job.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Second one in 6 months I bought this in July to replace a pump that had been in 15 years. On the plus side, it's small, quiet and easy to fit. On the minus side, it got noisy quickly, then refused to work sometimes, then failed altogether in less than 6 months. On the plus side, Screwfix swapped it and the new one is quiet and working. Reliability? We'll see.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy swap Bought this to replace a Showerforce 2 which packed up after 15 years. Easy to swap as the size is almost the same and the hose connections are similar. Doesn't deliver quite as much flow but I'm trying to save water. So far, so good.

Does this pump switch on and off automatically. Thanks

Asked by: Thej
Hello Thej. Yes, this pump will switch on and off automatically, but only if there is an existing flow due to gravity of at least 1 litre per minute from the outlet to be boosted. This flow is necessary to 'lift' the flow switch in the pump head which activates the pump. If the flow through the unboosted outlet due to gravity alone is less than 1 litre per minute you should opt for a 'Universal' type pump. A 'Universal' pump does not rely on gravity flow through the pump and outlet to activate a flow switch and switch itself on, instead it 'senses' the drop in pressure that results from the boosted outlet being opened, or shower switched on etc.

Can this be used for a gravity fed hot water? cold is on mains - poor pressure just in Bathroom

Been Quoted £200 for a pump and fitting but unsure of what pump to get
Asked by: Frankie96
Hi Frankie96, Because the 'cold is on mains' a Standard type pump such as this may not function correctly with many brands of mixer showers and taps. A 'Universal' pump type should be used instead.

Hot & cold or hot only?

This pump appears to have a "2 in - 2 out" configuration. Can is be used just to boost the hot water pressure?
Asked by: Grabit
Hello Grabit The Techflo TP S Positive Head Twin is designed to boost both the hot and cold water on a gravity fed system. If you require to boost the hot water only then you will need to select a Universal single ended pump. Unfortunately the Techflo TP range does not include a 'Universal' (sometimes called Negative Head) type pump. For such a pump you would need to consider our Monsoon or Showermate ranges.

waashing machine

can this pump be installed to boost the water pressure to a washing machine?
Asked by: eric333
Hello! The Techflo TP pump is a "Standard/Positive" pump type and requires a minimum flow of approx 1 litre per minute to activate it. The flow into the washing machine when the machine fill solenoid valve opens may not be enough to activate the pump in this case. We would recommend using a "Universal/Negative" pump type such as the Showermate Universal Single (assuming that the machine is configured for cold fill only). A Universal/Negative pump type senses the pressure drop when the machine fill valve opens and does not require a minimum flow to activate.

For use with a kitchen mixer tap?

We have a gravity-fed system and would like to use this to boost pressure for the kitchen tap only. Possibly next to the hot water tank or under the sink. Is this pump suitable for this?
Asked by: El0690
Hello EIO690. The pump would be best located next to the hot water cylinder. If the kitchen tap is already installed and has hot and cold water flowing through it under gravity then this pump can be used.
