Rated 4 out of 5 by from Door latches Great product for the price, comes with both brass and chrome covers. Seem fairly solid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not “double sprung” It’s a good strong tubular latch with good fittings but not double sprung! It is reversible and will suit your average handles with no problem.. but if you want it for a door knob style it only works one way. .. not double sprung !!

Is it reversible?

Description says it is, but several reviewers say it isn't. I suspect they don't realise the catch on the end has to be rotated within the casing, which is the normal case for reversible latches. ...but I just wanted to double check.
Asked by: DaveInRingwood
Hello DaveInRingwood, Yes, the latch is reversible, the forend face plate is removable and the latch will twist to reverse the handing. Thank you for using Q&A

Size of bore?

I have tried to fit the item using a 22mm flat but to cut the hole but having done that I now realise that the hole is too small!! What size hole should be cut? I think it should be about 25mm but need to check.
Asked by: Johng11
Hello Johng11, I can confirm the hole size will need to be 25mm. Thank you for using Screwfix Q and A. A.K.C.

Can you adjust the tension on the spring?

I bought these extra long ones to use with knobs, so the knob was further away from the frame so you don't bash your knuckles. However, without the extra leverage of a handle, they are very stiff to turn.
Asked by: Dave587
Hello Dave587, As far as i am aware there is no adjustment to the tension spring. Thank you for using Q and A.JB

What are the dimensions of the mortice that will need to be cut?

Or to put it another way - what size of auger bit do I need to buy to fit this latch?
Asked by: Inquisitive1
Hello Inquisitive1, The dimensions of the tubular latch is: Height 20mm x Width 15mm. Probable would need say a 20mm to 22mm Auger bit. Thank you for using Q&A, [BH].
