Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good saw Got this as a replacement for the decoflex. Delivered within 48hrs as promised and came with a brucey bonus on a small pallet. Free wood. First negative is that it wasnt delivered with a UK power adaptor, luckily i had a travel adaptor. Good features if you can get to them. The removable plate to put the blades in the lower arm is not removable without prying it with a flat head screw driver. Even then putting the pinnless blades' clamp in the lower hook is ridiculously hard. I ended up taking off the side plate to access the hook and still had to loosen a screw at the front as it was about 2mm too close to the hook. Actually useful once the hook is loadsd as i keeps the clamp on the hook. Tension release lever is very useful, dust blower is excellent. Comes with 2 pinned blades but i use olson pinnless so unsure if their any good. I havent attsched the safety screen or hold down as i fine them too restrictive. All in all its a good machine for the money just dont expect excalibur standard.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Scheppach scroll saw review The saw itself seems sturdy but there were niggly problems I had to resolve. 1. The plastic eye protector didn’t line up properly and fouled the safety frame. 2. The adjustable safety frame kept vibrating loose, In fact this whole assembly is bulky and gets in the way. I took it off. 3. The blade insert didn’t sit flush with the table and small work kept catching on the lip. 4. The table wasn’t square. 5. The light isn’t very good and casts a dark shadow at the point of work. I know this is a budget saw, but I still expect it to all fit and work properly on delivery. I will be doing a Youtube review.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK for small, light jobs I feel like a traitor giving this unit a poor review but its so close to being really good but let down by silly ailments. As soon as I got this unit I noticed the light only works when the unit is switched on and running. I found this really strange as to set up work and get everything lined up and ready to go you have to use a second light to see what you are doing before activating the green button, strange. The light has also now begun to work intermittently, sometimes all bulbs come on, sometimes only one and on occasions, nothing. The blower is good and does shift dust and cuttings from the blade and table however mine works well sometimes and on other occasions not enough to blow out a candle. Fitting blades with pins takes only seconds and is great however if using the non pin blades and you want to do lots of intricate inboard work you have to use the metal hangers (not sure of their proper name) that bolt onto the blade either end and then hang on the same plates as the pin hangers. This is ok but if cutting out lots and lots of inside sections the blades ,very quickly, twist and distort and after a few changes you find they don't seem to cut quite as straight as they had earlier. I am returning my saw tomorrow because whilst tightening up the bottom hanger for a new blade, the metal housing holding the blade split making the holder inoperative and the saw dormant. To hang the bottom hanger also takes some time because on mine a fixing screw holding a plastic plate on the front of the machine protrudes so far into the body of the machine is stops the hanger clipping on. With a blade replacement, it is possible to fit it eventually however if the blade is threaded through a piece of wood for an inside cut and then you have to fit the bottom hanger, that can take an age, all because the screw gets in the way. In addition to my bottom hanger breaking, the screw holding the top hanger rattled free and whilst (carefully) tightening it back on it was evident the threaded section on the arm (alloy ?) was stripped and would never hold it tight. With the constant vibration whilst cutting it continued to come loose and I had no other option but to fit a thinner bolt and nut just to hold the hanger on and that was within the first days of using it. Although all of the above makes grim reading I have to admit that when the saw did work it was brilliant and so far I have turned out a few really nice cut pieces of timber however with the minor problems i've encountered time has come to replace it, but probably with a heavier model, hoping the fittings are more rebust. If you are cutting very thin wood and only need a relatively slow speed and power, this saw would do however it gave up on me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Had it a short while and...... I'm happy with it. I use it for light DIY use cutting wood, metal and foam. It has done what I wanted. It is quiet and vibration is very light. Only problem was the first one I received. Damaged in transit. Screwfix contacted the supplier and I was promptly contacted by them to arrange return of the defective item and delivery of a new one. New one arrived strapped to a small pallet to ensure its survival through the delivery process and it worked. Can't fault the service on the returns.
