Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Machine I bought this cutter as I had a large quantity of slips to cut from standard building blocks and brick detail work on some arch window header's. Initially the accuracy wasn't to my exacting standard however after some careful adjustment perfect cuts we're possible. The supplied blade is of good quality, cuts are a little wide until it is 'worn in' and it is lasting well. I've been running mine on a 13 amp supply (standard uk plug) with no problems at all. So don't be put off by the ' Requires 16 amp supply'. You will have to make up a short extension cable in order to utilize the included circuit protection device as it only takes a 16amp plug (supplied), use 2.5mm cable. Overall a very capable machine, not as robust as a Norton but probably a third of the price. Handle it carefully and it should last a good few years.

Does the cutting head pivot to adjust the depth of cut?

Asked by: EngineerJohn
Hi The blade doesn't move up and down it is fixed. The table slides back and fourth and the blade runs through the material that you are cutting it will cut from 0 to 110mm deep.

What do I need to power this machine? Can I use a transformer plugged into the mains?

I tried a 6hp generator today with it, as guided from another answer and that wouldnt run it!
Asked by: Chrismi
Hello From the mains this unit requires 16 amp type protection due to its heavy start load , 20 amp type b motor rated fuse is recommended . If it is to be used via a generator , the generator must be no less than 8 hp . ie 3 times greater than the power of the machine ie 2000w = 2.75 hp . x 3 ( this is important other wise serious heat will be generated and the wiring will melt .

Will this run from a 2.7kva generator??

Hi, If it won’t run from a 2.7kva generator with 16a supply... what size generator will it run from?? Cheers
Asked by: Greenhousebase
Hello The Generator to power any unit must be a minimum of 3 times that of the machine being used , in this case the hsm 350 has a motor 2000w , 6 hp generator is required .
