Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great kit Don't be misled by the instructions. They state measure down 35mm for the bracket, In my case it was 10mm. Make sure you test fit the bracket on the sink first before marking out the wall. Apart from that, excellent item.

Suitable for a Masonry Wall?

Is it suitable to hang a 52cm semi-ped on a masonry wall (Brick outer, cavity, plastered blockwork inside). If so, what size screw/plug combi to use to fix the plate, or is it better to use the standard basin fixings that come with the basin?

How much maximum weight can this fixing carry?

Asked by: Aresber
The bolts are rated at over 2 tonnes sheer strength. However it all comes down to the type of wall its being mounted on and fixings/amount of fixings used. The plate will hold any basin weight there is but a professional needs to install and make sure the wall and fixings can take the necessary weight imposed.

Where can you get the optional extended bolts from? The standard ones are just a little too short for our install.

Asked by: Taff78
I don't think Screwfix currently stock these! But I have bought them from a 'well known auction site' before. They are M10 120mm long bolts

How far does this push the sink off the wall?

Will tiles cover the gap at the top (splasback) and will the sides of the sink need sealing?
Asked by: Anonymous
Last time I used this I tiled up to the plate edge and it was perfect, a splash back would be fine too as the plates around 3.5mm thick, even on top of tiles that gap isn't too big to silicone.

What is the biggest sink you can use this for?

Asked by: Leee1
It's not so much the size (or the weight) of the basin that is relevant, its more the distance apart the fixing holes in the back of the basin itself are. For really large basins, say 1m or larger, the fixing holes can be 600mm or even 800mm apart, in which case the plate won't work as the maximum distance the bolts adjust to are 300mm apart. The fixing positions however for by far the majority of basins on the market, range from 200-300mm apart.
