Well Above Expectations
Have always been a die hard petrol mower user.
Having used battery hand tools for work for over thirty years, decided now was the time to try using cordless technology in the garden.
Started with Oregon chainsaw, next strimmer, then hedge cutter and finally LM300 mower. Though I still have a petrol rough cutter if the grass gets really out of control, I can cut nearly half an acre of grass using three 4AH batteries. These same batteries run all the other gear as well.
The mower is powerful and collects grass really well into the 50 litre box. Height adjustment smooth and easy. Though mostly made of plastic it appears to be a good quality polyethylene type and has served well over the last two years. It has a decent metal blade that is easy to sharpen and gives a very presentable cut.
The grass box requires snap together assembly and I added a few self tapping screws for extra rigidity.
Only slight niggle is that the electrical safety switch is a little sticky. Only advice would be that if your grass has any loose pebbles or stones, you may wish to consider the larger metal deck LM400.
All in all been very impressed with this mower and happy to recommend.

A cut above.....
Petrol mower wouldn't start (again). Wife says too heavy anyway. Corded electric mowers a pain. So has battery technology improved enough to power a decent mower? Read on...
Delivered on time (but no phone call or email). Securely packed, and pristine. Easy to assemble (read the instructions!). Battery supplied almost fully charged - a nice touch. Plastic parts seem robust and well moulded. Battery clicks firmly into housing. Powerful and reasonably quiet motor, cutting height very easy to adjust. Cut my front and rear lawns - about 150m2) - neatly. Grass had been quite long, so mower working quite hard. When completed in about 1/2 hour, charge was down to about 25%. So the advertised 500m2 may be stretching it a bit on one charge. But fine for me. Great! Recommended. And greener than petrol, I suppose.

Robust & capable li-ion mower
Cant state as to reliability over the long term (yet) but if I compare it to the solid year of performance I've got out of my Oregon 36v chainsaw, this was a no-brainer to utilise the 2 battery packs I already owned when comparing against cheaper smaller, flimsy alternatives...
This is very similar in density to the environmower we used for the past decade, simple key (don't lose it) battery connection, wide cut, well balanced for lifting wit one hand (easier without battery in but no problem with) meaning most people will be fine lifting it in & out /up & over obstacles.
Most li-ion mowers are 18 volt currently, this being 36v has more heft for the average garden with utility grass.
Easy to put together, 5 minutes for 2 people (to get compression for the handle to save faffing, & to fit the mower cuttings box together (it comes as a 3 part unit, plus handle).
Noise wise, it will allow sleeping babes to slumber, wildlife to prosper, ..it won't drive anyone out of the garden nor annoy your neighbours via excessive noise, I tend to part use, then change my batteries over so they never seriously deplete, (for my chainsaw) ..being cordless this is easy to access awkward points on your property, is fast to set up & get cutting before the rain, ... ultmately makes more time for you!
Don't leave it outside in the wet, there are a few "catch points for rainwater to gather & what look like regular steel screws to rust.
I do like the height adjuster, great for the "non perfect" lawn in progress, combined with good sized, free rolling wheels this will make a despised job infinitely simpler.
Had it delivered today, should have bought it last summer! ...excellent price for the "bare bones" ((no battery supplied)) version compared to other vendors at time of purchase, ..Screwfix even messaged me to verify we wanted this unit & hadn't ordered in error (nope, both units were side by side on the website) ...if you have already invested in another Oregon product (I have the self sharpening chainsaw which is a great piece of workman kit this was an easy purchase (more expensive) to contemplate, solid, wide cut, blade already in-situ ....add battery & you are more or less ready to roll.

Hi Stevegarden, this particular set doesn't come with a battery, however you can purchase it with a battery and charger, just put 9940X in the Screwfix search bar. Thanks!
