Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better result than I'd hoped Used to level 12 sq mtr kitchen. Levels involved 25mm to zero. The levels were a lot worse initially but to save on cost of SLC I screeded with sand and cement first to pad it out. Then I used SLC to complete. Spiked shoes are good. (Make Sure you try them in advance and make sure spikes are secure. Straps may come undone. You don't want to have to keep trying to tighten as you are working) Spiked roller is helpful. Ensure it rolls freely. I bought a new one that had a roller that didn't roll freely. Luckily I stopped using that immediately as it would have ruined the end result. As it was the first time I'd levelled a floor I used 5L of water (Bag says 4.5L max) It was probably a good call for me but would not suggest you add any more water than I did, if you can get away with it, stick with what they say. Prepare prepare prepare. Over buy on compound. (Take back what you don't use) If you are new to it., have 1 helper at least for large areas especially. Have the bags next to your mixing area. Have a bucket with a slot in it so that it will only fill to that slot (say 4.5L) Time is of the essence. Think of everything that might go wrong beforehand and have a back up plan. So..Don't rely on one mixing drill. Check bucket handles won't give when carrying heavy load. Consider all those kind of things. The kitchen floor looks really great. A little off level in a corner but that should correct easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like magic I had a 100mm slope to level off. Prepared some buckets with the recommended amount of water and poured one while 2nd was settling. Used 4 bags in total and it worked like magic. Nice smooth, level surface. So easy even I could do it. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product - easy to use I had never had to screed a floor before, got this followed the mixing instructions, poured it on the floor and moved it about a bit - hey presto, flat, solid floor ready for tiling. Never thought it would be this easy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Caution needed but Good I found it very dry when mixing to bag instructions, like crumbly. I primed with a liquid DPM (as others DO NOT use PVA or you will ruin it) i found this product much better than Mapei 3210 and this one goes thicker too. did 2 at 35mm depths and no issues at all. coverage was a little low compared to bag i think but great product. Screwfix by far cheapest

Is the quoted coverage figure correct?

The coverage is quoted as 6m^2. I suspect that the coverage is actually a square of 6m by 6m, which is 36m^2. Please confirm/clarify.
Asked by: sharpcon
The coverage is correct at 6SQM at a constant thickness of 3mm. i.e. an area of 2m x 3m

Laying on old floorboards

Can this be used on upstairs floorboards with a run off into 1 corner of about a 35mm drop. Can it be used directly on top of floorboards if they are gap free and primed ? If so what primer should be used ?
Asked by: jactac
Mapei Ultraplan 3240 Self-Levelling Compound can be used over solid floor boards, however Screwfix do not stock the suitable Mapei primer for this type of application

Using over No more ply - do I need to prime before & after use?

I have used no more ply 6mm in my hallway now I am tiling it but the floor is uneven. Is this product suitable? Do I need to prime prior & after? What do you reccomend? Does it matter if the product seeps through any gaps (eg pipes)
Asked by: Ellsbells1234
Yes this product would be suitable and the primer to be used before applying would be MAPEI PRIMER G 5KG (5309P). ensure that all gaps between boards are filled before applying the smoothing compound as it is quite fluid.
