Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makita = Quality Fantastic bit of kit, no regrets deciding on this one over the De-Walt or Trend. Brilliant micro adjust on both fence and depth. Comes with 1/4 " , 8mm and 1/2" collets and a depth adjustment screw for table use not mentioned in the description. Big and heavy but a pleasure to use. Easy to stand inverted to change bits. Have given 5* for reliability but to be fair that is based on my other Makita kit as I haven't had this for long enough yet. Recently dug out several 65mm deep 5/8 " wide lock mortises with extreme ease. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makita 240v router Great router a lot of power to handle corian. Not thing I would say is that is does sometimes shock you because of the static build up but nothing to worry about I do wish it comes with the guide bushing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic piece of kit Ok so I admit it, I’ve got three routers already so I’m no newbie, but I do like solid well built kit. This Makita router has a fantastic reputation and for good reason. It’s tough, it’s rugged and it’s very well made. Yes, it can be easily used for diy, but it’s a great trade rated tool too. The depth stops are dead simple to use and the 2.1kw motor is a peach. Very powerful and smooth when you need it with superb speed adjustment and control. The half inch chuck is really solid and the lights very bright so you can see exactly where you are cutting. The dust control fittings come with the unit, though you may need an adaptor piece to hook it up to your vacuum unit. It comes with a parallel fence which is very precise and I particularly like the micro adjustment facility which you don’t get on the cheaper models. The blow moulded carry case is perfect for keeping the router safe and tidy and has plenty of space for storing spare bits. Ok, so it isn’t the cheapest, but with two sizes of chucks it’s one of the most versatile units you can buy. Safe to say if I’d bought this router first, then I’d only have one in the tool store and not three.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use I have absolutely no experience using routers, but having decided to fit my own kitchen I realised that I needed to get one. This seemed sturdy and I was attracted by the variable speed. Reviews I saw online were good, so the choice then was where to buy it. I like the fact that Screwfix has stores as well as online, so whilst the price was not the lowest I could find on the internet, I was happy to pay that little bit more to have the reassurance that I could go into a store with any concerns. Back to the product! - It felt rather heavy for me (I am not the sturdiest of women) but as I am using it on surfaces that support it well this isn’t an issue, and that weight helps to stop excessive vibration. So far I have reduced the depth of several cupboards and created neat cutouts around boxing in. Whilst I was a little apprehensive at first, I am rapidly gaining confidence. The finish to an edge is so much better than using a saw. Very happy I bought this - I will be finding excuses to use it.
