Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement saw This was a replacement for one that had been put through its paces. Decided to go with the brush less this time. Not the cheapest I could get it but needed it quickly and picked up half hour after buying on line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cordless saw I'm firmly embedded in the Makita camp because I already have LXT battery operated tools and would need a really solid reason to switch to another brand but all of the reviews I've read / watched for this saw have been positive with only minor niggles when compared to other top flight brands such as Skill and most of the reviewers admitting they had a personal preference. All that said, I've had a little used Elu mains powered saw for a long time and it's heavy, cumbersome and a pain to use. The Makita is none of that; it's relatively light, powerful, easy to use and has some great features. Useful feature number 1 is the air jet that keeps the cut line clear of saw dust, 2, the led light that illuminates not only the front marker but also the leading edge of the blade so following your cut line is easier. The safety switch is easy to operate with the thumb whilst pulling the trigger and the electrically braked blade means that the saw stops really quickly for improved safety. The first job I've used the saw on has been cutting out a dummy stile for some stairs and it's handled the 25mm MDF with no problems at all. The 1 mm thick blade leaves a very clean cut and cuts through the material with very little effort. Overall, I'm really pleased with this saw and would highly recommend it.

Yes you can adjust from 0-57mm depth (at 90 degrees). Just make sure to remove the battery if you put your fingers near the blade.
