Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the extra Well I truly blew the budget on this one. Started out looking at around £250, then after months of dithering, reading reviews, and trying a few out I chose the Mafel, and am very happy with purchase. (The 10% off weekend was the clincher). As I wanted to cut full size sheets the longer guide rails are perfect, allowing the saw to start and finish beyond the board being cut. The joiner gives a very positive fit connecting the rails, unlike many of the others tried. I also liked the enclosed blade cover which means there was no noticeable dust from machine when connected to an extractor. It feels really well made which is why I gave it a reliability rating, but not had it long enough to give a true test. While I still feel it is a lot of money for a saw, I do feel it is good value compared to many others on the market, even though they are cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I’m a joiner and love dewalt and makita but have to say the mafell blows them out of water on build quality and performance it’s the best track saw I’ve ever owned!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MONEY WELL SPENT After months and months of looking around and asking people for advice I finally decided to go for the Mafell. I looked into the Festool/Dewalt/Makita, but this stood out 100%. After using it on site as many times as I could this has to be the best tool ever purchased. The guide rails square up on their own, the scribe feature works really really well, the plunge is smooth and motor is powerful enough that have not had a kick back (touch wood). The main fact this is a complete kit is amazing, I purchased a 800mm rail too just so I don't have to disconnect the 1600mm rails to do small cuts. With the rails being 1600mm its perfect for bedroom fittings as my material comes in 2800 and these rails give enough overhand to do it with out having to move the guide rails. I would say there is a huge difference with the rubber on the bottom of the tracks with the Mafell's being less the 10mm wide and the other brands being like over 20mm but I have had no issues so far as this is a complete kit and you can just use the clamps on more smooth materials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the Festool .... ...... Not that I have anything against the TS55, apart from the fact that it's disastrously underpowered. I tolerated mine for over three years, with it constantly shutting down every time I tried to cut anything thicker than 25mm softwood. It gives a beautiful cut on the right material, but I fit a lot of kitchens with hardwood worktops, and the TS55 simply isn't up to this most basic of joinery jobs. The Mafell's really in a different league. The combination of way more power and a thinner kerf on the blade (1.8mm as opposed to 2.2mm on the TS55) means that one-pass cutting of 50mm worktops is now the norm for me. It has many other features which other reviewers have explained, so please read those or watch some YouTube videos. Their rail system is also light years ahead of Festool's - and an 800mm rail is available for smaller cuts where the longer one is a bit too cumbersome. If you've already got Festool rails though - it works on those as well. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Does this come with a Systainer?

Asked by: Zeevro

Extraction system comparable with Festool

Hi, I have a festool mini extraction system. Will the Mafell work off the vacuum? How do you modify?
Asked by: RonRainbow

Does this plunge saw kit come with a carry bag for the rails and a carry case for the saw

Asked by: LesI
According to the UK distributor, NMA Tools, the version supplied to Screwfix does include a rail bag and a carry case for the saw. Case is the older style Systainer though, not the newer 't-loc' style.
