Rated 5 out of 5 by from DIY review I purchased this light from the screwfix online store and collected in store. The light was bought with the basis of the other reviews stating it was simple to install. It was. Three screws seperate the light and the back of the unit with each having a cable to connect one to the other for power. After choosing to attach the light to the power cable via the back and not the side of the unit, I drilled a hole for access. Easily done. The unit has a an easy wiring system with clamp to hold the power cable in place securely. Once fitted, I secured the unit to the wall using screws and rawl plugs supplied. The light itself was then secured again to the back unit. Job done. I have never attempted anything like this before but found it extremely simple and worry free. The light itself is powerful and offers a day time effect lighting in its colour temperature.

is this light ideal for outside use? Waterproof?

Hi pppaaadddd, The bulkhead _is_ designed for exterior use and has an IP rating of 65 so is proof against pressurised jets of water from all directions.

Can the light be dimmed if I attach a dimmer control rather than a switch? Thanks

Hi Nickolm8837, These lights are Fixed Output, so _cannot_ be dimmed at all.

Would an electrician be able to wire an interior on/off switch to this light?

Can this be installed with external cable on wall.

It would be too difficult to bring the cable down inside the cavity so can this light be connected where the power cable runs on the outside wall of the house and into the light unit.

Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. This Luceco LBM290B11S40 LED Bulkhead Black 11W has knockouts on the 4 cardinal points (opposite sides plus top and bottom), so can accept surface run cabling as easily as cable coming out of the wall into the rear.
