Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Adhesive Excellent adhesive for insulation board bonding to rendered wall, single tin lasts longer than other manufacturers, due to being more sedate on expulsion from the tin. Worth the price for coverage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Expanding Foam I bought this as the local branch only had 1 tube of my preferred choice available. I cannot honestly say how well it performs as an adhesive since I bought it as an expanding foam. However, it specifically stated on the can that it was a very low expansion product since it was designed to stick and only to expand sufficient to expand over the surface and provide an effective bond. Whereas what I was looking for was a high expansion product suitable for providing adhesion in large cavities. So, if you want expanding foam - this is not for you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expected better from DOW Bought on a recommendation online that it sticks like the proverbial to a blanket. Could barely get it to stay on a clean block wall, more ended up on the floor than the wall. That said, where it did stick it stick well. Too expensive to be mostly useless though. I still have most of a can sat unused.

Can it be used to fix shower based. .is it waterproof

Asked by: csfhkye
Thanks for your query, Although not intended for use in permanently wet conditions, Insta-Stik is water resistant. It may be used to help bond a shower tray into position, however, it should be noted that expanded foam may become compressed if exposed to weight loading over time. The use of Insta-Stik is not a substitute for either dead load support under the tray or the sanitary silicone seal. The foam should also be covered so that it is protected from UV light. Please refer to the technical data sheet for further application advice.

Is this strong enough to hold 12.5 mm plasterboard and then medium weight wall tiles

Asked by: RobR2
Yes, Insta Stik will stick to foil backed plasterboard. However, It is worth noting that if sandwiched between two non-porous materials correct application procedure must be followed (see technical data sheet) and the cure rate may be slowed due to lack of moisture. This will not be an issue if used on non-porous to porous or porous-porous substrates.

Insta stik DOW

Can Insta Stik be used to mount calcium silicate board in a fireplace where I am installing a wood burning stove.
Asked by: freckster
Dow Insta Stik foam is thermally stable up to 80°C, therefore I expect that it may be too hot in this application to use Dow Insta Stik.
