Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't read the specification According to the spec, the internal dimensions of the this box are bigger than the external. So it is in effect a Tardis!! But seriously do be careful about the dimension information. There is no way this box can fit anything in it of the dimension the spec gives as the internal mouldings impose into the box space. This is the second box I've bought that is not big enough because the spec has been quoted incorrectly

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dimensions Wrong (Screwfix) Seems an OK product but the dimesnions on the screwfix page are worng. The side walss are about 15mm thick so internal dimesnions are nearer 350 x 220 x 140 than those stated. Consequently its too small for intended use so I will have to exchange it for a larger one.

Can this be pole mounted e.g. a telegraph pole?

I need to mount one on a telegraph pole to house mains power supply etc. for CCTV cameras but don't want to reduce the IP rating. Can't see the back in the photo. Are there mounting points that don't require holes to be drilled?

The enclosure comes as standard with 4 x external mounting feet, used to secure the enclosure to a flat surface. The mounting points for these feet could be used to secure the enclosure to a telegraph pole without the need to drill additional holes which could compromise the IP rating.

Can this be used to case in a shed consumer unit

Can this be used to case in a shed consumer unit? I would just like a covering for the consumer unit so it is out of sight and cased in. Can it be used without the back plate?

Yes it could be used for this purpose, assuming the dimensions are suitable – however the disconnect and reconnect of the consumer unit cables must be carried out by a suitably qualified person
