Rated 4 out of 5 by from Honeywell pressure red valve Excellent part, has gauge too, very useful and better price than others

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great and not Honeywell Wanted a quality item so paid more for Honeywell but it is another brand on box - no mention of Honeywell. Plastic pressure gauge and spindle. Minimal instructions - unclear whether for use as a dynamic or static pressure regulation - big difference !. Needed to fit it but would avoid. Poor quality. Not happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Fine I had an irritating thud through the pipework in my house when the washing machine was drawing cold water. After some research I decided to fit a PRV rather than a water hammer arrestor. I fitted it in around 10 minutes & reduced the mains pressure from around 6 bar to 3. Some of the previous reviews comment on the fact that the thread on the gauge is plastic & not brass (as shown in the image) and they were having issues with this not sealing onto the PRV. I applied a goodly amount of PTFE tape & have had no issues. I think you have the option to use the gauge to set the desired pressure & then remove the gauge & fit a blanking plug (supplied). I have left mine on for now to monitor it but may consider removing the gauge later. I cannot comment on reliability, as it has only been fitted a few hours, but it has got rid of the annoying thudding noise!

What type of pressure reducing valve is this ? Dynamic or Static. Makes a huge difference when trying to safeguard products from excess pressure. No info on website or item instructions. Poor.

Dynamic will not safeguard products from pressure increase when there is no flow.

I cannot remove the spring bonnet with an adjustable. Is there a special tool for loosening the bonnet? Also, am I correct in saying that it loosens by turning it clockwise?

Can the PRV be fitted to 22mm plastic pipes, assuming I use suitable pipe inserts?

I'm intending to fit this under the bath just prior to a thermostatic mixer. The shower runs hot enough but bath is overwhelmed by cold supply pressure even after fitting a check valve to the hot inlet.
Asked by: 4eyesarebetterthantwo
Yes, PRV can be fitted to 22mm plastic pipes in case you are using suitable pipe inserts. If the one installed is the compression fitting pressure reducing valve, then the attachment to the plastic pipe depends on what the guidance is from the manufacturer of the plastic pipe.

Is it essential the outlet pressure is set to be minimum if 1 bar below inlet pressure? I have a water softener I want to protect in the unlikely event water pressure goes high. Inlet pressure is 4 bar, can I set outlet pressure to also be 4 bar?

Asked by: Andy213
The D04 is suitable for reducing the pressure from 5.2 bar to 3.0 bar.
