Rated 5 out of 5 by from Updating Bathroom This item was so simple to use and get into tight spots, would use again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Pipe Very high quality pipe- I used for creating feeds to my shower mixer. Only downside with Hep20 is the difficulty in reusing the fittings if the insert comes with them when removing from the pipe- especially as they are quite expensive. To remove the inserts if stuck in a fitting I use needle nose pliers and twist and pull out at an angle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Easy to use, the correct cutter is needed for a square cut. Reliable and in place quickly. Pity they do not deliver these lengths. They are good to use as they are straight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very qualified approval. I have used copper pipe for decades without any problems. This is the first time that I have used plastic pipe and it certainly has some advantages & disadvantages. I can see why so many people, especially professional plumbers like it. It appears at first glance to only take seconds to cut accurately on a marked line and seconds to insert into a push fit connector. The fact that the pipe has a bit of flex in it is an advantage when it comes to fitting in tight spaces, at least until you try to use the push fit connectors. A three metre length of pipe is cheap. Now for the significant disadvantages: 1. The first joint that I made had to be demount-ed and in doing so, the metal liner was retained in the push fit connector. It was impossible to remove. I took this back to Screwfix who (reluctantly) replaced the connector. 2. I subsequently discovered that this is not an unusual problem and so you have to throw the expensive connector away every time this happens which is about 5% of the time. 3. The connectors seem to be the smallest design on the market but they are very much bigger than standard compression fittings which makes neat installation too poor to be retained. So I scrapped all of my expensive connectors and replaced them with conventional compression fittings. This looks much neater and you can at least use a chrome compression fitting if it is going to be visible. 4. The pipe cutter is almost completely useless when you find that the pipe is a few mm too long and is bowing under the pressure at each end. The pipe cutter will more or less mark half a circle around the pipe but you then need to completely ignore all the "professional" advice and finish the job off by hand with a new sharp Stanley knife. It may take more than one attempt to get the length of the pipe correct and you may well end up starting again with a new length of pipe. 5. It is completely impossible to use the demount key in a tight installation. Note that the videos on how to do this are being given by someone standing behind a table with a piece of pipe inserted into a fitting and no restriction on fitting the disconnection tool. Doing what the video demonstrators are doing on line is easy. Doing the same thing in a tight installation is impossible. Using a standard compression fitting and grips and a spanner is no problem. So that is my first installation using plastic pipe. Would I buy it again? Well just the pipe. Not the fittings. Is it really quick as everyone else says? Not unless you are doing a quick installation where any bends in the pipe are hidden from view. In that situation it would be very quick compared to copper Could I have done the same thing in copper? Yes and it would have actually been quicker, cost almost the same for the pipe and I would not have wasted my money on the "labour saving" push-fit fittings. So be aware. You need to think carefully about how you intend to use this.

what is the inside dimension

Asked by: MCME

Are the 3 metre lengths bendable? Also is it suitable for use in my building’s common hot water system?

Asked by: Epistrophy
Hi there, The 3m straight lengths of Hep2O are still flexible and can be manipulated by hand to form bends. The minimum bending radius of 15mm Hep2O is 120mm (8x pipe diameter). Hep2O is suitable for most domestic and commercial hot / cold water and heating applications however it is NOT suitable to be used on a continuously operated re-circulating system (e.g. ring main installations). For more information on where Hep2O can / cannot be used please see our Hep2O installer guide. I hope this helps. If you require any further information, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Whats the wall thickness? and is there an aluminium layer?

I need to adapt 18mm onto 15mm Hep pipe and can get compression joiner for this.
Asked by: Benjm2019
The wall thickness for nominal size of 15mm is 1.85mm. There is no aluminium layer in Hep2o pipework, Barrier Pipe has a layer of ethylene vinyl alcohol that prevents the diffusion of oxygen through the pipe wall. The barrier layer also has a fine adhesive coating on each side thus making 5 layers in total. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if there is anything else we can help you with. Many thanks, The Hep2O Team Hep2O pipe is suitable for connecting to compression fittings which comply with BS EN 1254. Please consult page 24 of our installer guide for more information.
