What am I missing, I can see depth control and what would drill the hole but how does it make an undercut? I have no idea what to expect when I drill into the wall in terms of thickness and any gap for the wings(17yr old house, wall separating two rooms)
Gripits are designed for plasterboard thickness of 9.5mm-15mm.
Most plasterboard has a gap behind, however, if it is double thickness, insulated or dot and dab fixed, then there is no gap.
The Undercutting Tool is used after the initial hole is drilled for the Gripit; it should be used in a circular, clockwise motion which allows the area behind the plasterboard to be cleared. This will then allow the wings on the Gripit to open in the recess made.
We do have a helpful ‘How To Use’ demonstration video, which may help to answer any further questions you may have
