Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grip it back cutter You need a 1.3mm Allen key to adjust for thickness of plasterboard. At this cost level I expected this to be part of the pack.....hence only 4* rating. Had to out and by a pack of keys which contained the one that fitted.

Does this come with an Allen key to adjust depth?

When using this with double insulated plasterboard (2 x 15mm sheets giving 30mm total width) - would you essentially cut a 'chamber' 15mm into the insulated wall for the wings to expand behind the first sheet of plasterboard?

...so there would still be some plasterboard behind the chamber created? Doesn't seem possible to create a chamber 30mm in, at the back of both sheets, as the 20mm lip on the gripit stops it pressing back far enough into the 15mm hole drilled. Thanks

What size Allen key does this need? Savage that it doesn't come with one

How does it work?

What am I missing, I can see depth control and what would drill the hole but how does it make an undercut? I have no idea what to expect when I drill into the wall in terms of thickness and any gap for the wings(17yr old house, wall separating two rooms)

Gripits are designed for plasterboard thickness of 9.5mm-15mm. Most plasterboard has a gap behind, however, if it is double thickness, insulated or dot and dab fixed, then there is no gap. The Undercutting Tool is used after the initial hole is drilled for the Gripit; it should be used in a circular, clockwise motion which allows the area behind the plasterboard to be cleared. This will then allow the wings on the Gripit to open in the recess made. What size Allen Key for collar adjustment.
