FloPlast Overflow Waste Pipe White 21.5mm x 3m 10 Pack (18180)

30m Pack (10 x 3m). A 21.5mm solvent weld overflow system in white uPVC. No expansion gap required on the solvent weld overflow system. Apply solvent cement evenly to both surfaces of joint, insert pipe fully in the socket depth and remove surplus cement with a cloth. Allow five minutes to set before handling and twelve hours before testing the system. Ensure that the pipe is cut square, all swarf removed and cleaning fluid applied to both surfaces of joint.

This inexpensive plastic pipe is ideal for making lots of projects from - as well as its intended use as a waste water pipe - which it also does very well! I have used it to make a frame to cover my small fruit bushes that can be draped over with netting to protect the new fruit from the birds. This has worked so well (and looks good) that I may be making some more to protect other garden plants instead of feeding the birds with our small fresh fruit every year. We give them plenty of seed and we have lots of berries on our shrubs that they enjoy, so keeping some of our small fruit for ourselves hardly seems greedy! On a different note altogether, I have also used this pipe to make a lightweight but protective carry frame to prevent damage to my high speed radio controlled catamaran when it is being transported to the lakeside. At over 3 ft long it is all too easy to catch the pointed bows and cause damage that takes time to repair - and I would have had to make something to carry it on or in in any case, so this "space frame" surrounds the hull to protect it from bumps and is easy to carry.

No, we do not expect the overflow pipe to be affected by sunlight. The overflow system is made from the same material as the 110mm soil system which is designed for external use as well as internal.
