Hello,
This hose has double compression ends and will have olives in as you typically insert pipes into this part.
If the hose is used as seen in the photo then both sides would be female (you'd need to insert your copper pipe into the end in order to connect the parts together).
However, you could theoretically remove the compression nut on the end, which would expose the threaded part and make the end male instead (you could screw the hose ends into a threaded female connection).
Perhaps you are thinking of bsp ended hoses (where the connections are threaded and female and olives are not required)?
