Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value but poor finish Wasn't sure what to expect as I needed this in a hurry without paying a fortune. It seems to do the job i needed it for quite well but I found the finish was pretty bad considering. The jaws are rough and need filing down and the paint was already peeling off. It could be I got a bad batch but who knows? I certainly wouldn't and couldn't put anything in it to hold that i didn't want scratched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Workshop vice I bought this vice thinking that i would see how it was and if necessary i would buy a record vice if it was not of sufficient quality and purpose. However having seen and subsequently used it i was pleasantly surprised. The vice has three fixing points so that once attached to the bench it is steadfast and the quality is really good. The jaws have a great clamping power without damaging the item and as long as your mounting surface is solid the vice is as good as the much more expensive versions. I am impressed with the item and am looking forward to many years of use. Fully recommend buying one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality. Very poorly made. When fitted to a bench, the top deck was about 1 degree off being level. The winding action is course and stiff. The machining of the screen thread on the end of the turning handle was very poor - the handle keeps falling out. Don’t waste your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good vice Sturdy piece of kit. No faults found with it. Particularly like how the anvils are forged which gives extra clearance under them so you can get large bodied pieces in. Overall good kit and worth the money. Only marked down on reliablity because it's new to me and not used for any lenght of time yet.

It comes with 3 mounting holes. Is there a recommended fitting orientation?

I was thinking of having holes side to side: the dilemma is - do I put the third hole to the back or front? Any thoughts?
Asked by: KGTNH
Hello KGTNH, So long as all three holes are firmly secured there's no right or wrong way round to fit this.... you could even have them slightly off center if you need to fit it in around other bits on your workbench. Thank you for using Q&A

Would it hold a 4mm rod

I'm looking for a vice that's strong enough to hold a 4mm steel rod for when I'm using a die to make threads. Would this be strong enough?

Does this come with fixings to fix to bench

Asked by: Blabl
Hello, No, this vice does not come with any screws/fixings to fix to the workbench/table. The fixing holes on this suit a 10mm (m10) screw/bolt. The length you need depends on the thickness of your workbench etc. Thanks for using Q&A.
