Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small & Solid This is a small extinguisher but feels really solid. Hard to give a full review of performance and reliability as you don’t really want to use these!

Shelf Life

Most extinguishers have a retest date requirement. Does this one have this and how long does it last before expiring? i.e will I have to replace it after a year?
Asked by: DaveU
Thank you for your question. This extinguisher is manufactured according to the requirements of BSEN3 (except Clause 6.1 - Size Requirements). Therefore there is a Manufacture Date printed on the can, and when the unit is installed and commissioned according to BS5306 Part 3 & 8, a service label will be applied to the can, showing date of Next Service Due, and also the Discharge Test Due date. The unit should be inspected at least once per year after date of installation/commissioning. There is not an Expiry Date as such, however the British Standard for Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers (BS5306 Part 3 &8) states the correct way to calculate the Discharge Date (which is instead of Expiry Date). I trust this helps.
