Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fernox Leak Sealer This product performs excellently for jointing BSP fittings as well as sealing 'old' weaping joints. A must have for all tool boxes! It is silicone based but the fittings are watertight immediately so you do not need to allow time for the paste to cure. NOT FOR USE ON GAS FITTINGS.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to apply leak sealer Bought to seal a tiny leak in a soil stack coupler. Easy to apply, if a bit messy, and seems to have sealed the leak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job I had a small leak on an outside pipe. It would be difficult to remove the pipe and re-install it - but using Fernox easily and quickly stopped the leak

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Used it to seal a problematic joint. Had already tried just PTFE and then PTFE and liquid PTFE with no luck. This stuff worked first time. And it sets much quicker than the other liquid PTFE's I have used. Would recommend highly.

Will this stop a leak coming from my roof bar nut? The nut is corroded so can't be removed. I'm looking for something to cover the whole nut.

Asked by: Emma09
Hi Emma09, not something that it has been tested on but I can't see any reason why not. Make sure that the nut and the surrounds are all dry, cover over with a generous coating of LS-X and leave to set.

Can this product be applied around the outside of a connection

I have a very slight leak where the tail goes into a central heating radiator, can this product be applied around the outside of the connection or does it need to be stripped down and applied to the threads?
Asked by: Cookie9
Thank you for your question. Fernox LS-X can be applied to the external surface. Please ensure the area is dry and the pressure is released, so the weep has stopped before applying. Alternatively and an ideal solution would be to strip the joint and remake using the Fernox LS-X on the male thread before remaking, wipe any excess off the outside of the joint once completed. In either case, allow at least 4 hours to dry before re-pressurising the radiator affected.

The hot water pipe is dripping at the nut/ joint with my immersion heater. Would this product be worth a try?

Would it be necessary to drain tank first?
Asked by: Frenchpark
Hi Frenchpark, Yes this will work well but you will have to get the contact surface dry first, so switch off water and drain until no pressure on joint. Blot dry, undo joint apply LS-X, or wrap around joint with PTFE tape, coat with LS-X. either way leave at least 3 hours for the LS-X to fully cure before applying pressure.

Would this product be suitable for sealing a leaking water butt made from HDPE ?

Asked by: rahemmi
Hi Rahemmi, Yes but you will have to drain the water level down to below the leak and ideally use the LS-X on both sides of the leak. Leave it to cure off for at least 4 hours before allowing the water butt to refill.
