Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Piece of Kit Bought this from Screwfix with the power pressure jet attachment over the Easter period and got a call from Evolution to say that it would be delivered the next working day it arrived, well boxed and packing excellent. Once I unboxed the units, it took me approx 30 mins to assemble and used it to jet wash our patio. Powerful machine and done the job with ease, haven't tried the detergent yet for the car but so far an excellent piece of kit, good value. I've had slightly cheaper electrical ones but dont seem to get two years out of them before they breakdown. Would recommend it

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great concept, poor quality I bought the EVO200 engine and DWP1000 pump back in Jan 2013 and then the WP3200 powerwasher in Jul 2015. I was impressed with the modular nature of the EVO-System, and the low price. It seemed a great idea to be able to run a generator, water pump and pressure washer off the same engine, and Evolution promised more attachements to come. After 6 years of use, I'm still a fan of the idea (where are all the additional attachments, Evolution?), but so many things have gone wrong that I wouldn't buy into the EVO-System again. Here's a breakdown of the breakdowns... - The petrol cap is very poorly made and came apart early on. The plastic cover that you turn broke and separated from the metal cap below. I glued them back together with Araldite, but it's separated again so will have to work on a different method of repair, or find a replacement. - The stub axle of one of the wheels was welded squint to the frame, and eventually the welds on both axles broke. Lacking any welding skiils, I manufactured a wooden base plate for the engine frame, and added an axle and a couple of pneumatic wheels from an old sack truck which run over gravel much better than the original hard wheels. - The handle is a very loose fit to the frame, and isn't really long enough for me (I'm 6ft tall). - The grip on the starter cord disintegrated, and I replaced it with a short length of dowelling. - The starter cord broke, and was replaced with some similar cord. - The two rubber mounting bushes for the attachments on the fold-down part of the frame are now wearing very badly. - The two latches on either side of the frame which hold the fold-down in place are now difficult to disengage. - The machine cuts out after 30 seconds or so if the oil level isn't up to maximum, which created a lot of frustration until I discovered the cause. - The black Evolution nameplate fell off (and hasn't been replaced!). - The engine is very loud, and is heavier on fuel than I expected. - Starting has always been a bit problematic. This year it proved impossible to start, so I cleaned the carburettor and it now starts well. - The pressure washer leaks grey-coloured oil from the filler cap (presumably emulsified pump oil). An exploded parts diagram isn't available for the pressure washer unit, and a phone call to Evolution suggested that it's not economic for me to send in the unit for repair outside the guarantee period. They suggested that it might be a result of frost damage ( which might be true!). I may take the pressure washer pump apart and see if I can source a replacement seal from somewhere. - The hose on the pressure washer could be another 4m longer, meaning I have to reposition the engine when washing round a vehicle. - The WP1000 water pump takes ages to prime and start transferring water, but this may well be normal for a 3" pump. If you lose prime (eg the filter slips out of the water for a second), then you have to start again. On the plus side: - The system is easy to move around when new. - It is easy to detach the modules to make loading into a vehicle easier. - The pressure washer is quite powerful. - The water pump has a very high flow rate when it finally starts pumping. It can really move the water!

What is the psi pressure
Asked by: Zane11

two questions could i use seawater through it and would it draw water up to a deck height of 3.5 m

Asked by: sharvey
Thank you for your inquiry. If you are attaching the dirty water pump to the engine, it is capable of doing this. We do suggest using a non return valve on the suction pipe. Please flush with fresh water once finished, particularly if storing the unit for a period of time.

How easy is the engine to start using the recoil starter?

I recently had to return a product with a recoil starter because I simply could not get the engine to fire (it was a diesel, however).
Asked by: Roy45
In normal circumstances the engine should start within 3 pulls.
