Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strimming success Initially hesitant thinking it would be too large and heavy for me but I had been used to using a weedy plug in that was only 3ft high previously. It quickly became apparent that the weight was well balanced so it doesn't feel heavy at all, and the good length help keep you safe from any flying debris as you decide you're having fun and WILL take on the patch or 6ft high nettles. Battery wasn't close to running out; I did our garden, the front of our house and two neighbours' and it was still practically full. The cutting cord is very strong, I didn't need to draw more out after 30 minutes of strimming so I'm more than happy with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I was fed up with struggling with starting my petrol strimmer so thought I would try cordless, lightweight, quiet, no vibration, touch button start and well balanced. Easy to assemble, and cuts perfectly I could only suggest a a package with Battery and charger to reduce cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Massive Upgrade Had a corded flymo for years, which was rubbish as the strimming wire would always break, and trailing the cable around was a pain. I have other erbauer tools with the new batteries and theyre great, so had high expectations for this. I wasnt dissapointed, easily put together, great performance, saves me loads of time, and its so easy to press the button and get more wire from the spool. Cant really comment on reliability yet, but if its like the other tools, it will be very good. I have peice of mind in that case anyway, as it has a 2 year warranty. Just go and buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality grass trimmer I was looking for cheap and good grass trimmer for my garden. This erbauer Ext range is what you need for either DIY's jobs or professional business. The only pain is that You need to buy separate battery and charger if you don't own new Ext range already, but it's worth to buy drill or anything else from erbauer that includes 2x batteries then you can easily share those batteries between your tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Notch Product I've never left a review before but this was too good not too. I was undecided whether the 18v line trimmer would be powerful enough and had thought about spending double on the Erbauer brush cutter or triple on a DeWalt model. My advice is don't bother, buy this. We have a half acre garden with lots of thick long overgrown grass on a steep bank down to a river. This tool went through it like butter. It never struggled and was exceptionally light and easy to control. It assembles in a minute or so out of the box and is exceptionally well made. We used a 4 Amp battery which lasts for a good half an hour. Just have 2, preferably 3 batteries ready charged up at the start of the job and you will never run out. The batteries are more than sufficient to power the tool and very well priced for the quality you are getting. If it is any sign of how good this is I will be buying a second back up for if or when this one breaks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Beast!! I purchased this trimmer to replace by petrol trimmer which was often difficult to start; was quite cumbersome and also needed a fair amount of maintenance to keep it running. With some reservation, I opted for a battery powered device as I wanted the freedom of being wire free without the hassle of petrol. I was concerned that the battery powered trimmer just wouldn't have sufficient grunt to compete with my petrol model - boy was I wrong! This unit is a beast - tackling the toughest of jobs with ease. The build quality is excellent and so is the battery life (coupled with a 5Ah battery). My only gripes are that this model doesn't have an edging facility and that I was unable to buy the trimmer as a bundle (trimmer, battery and charger) which may have potentially saved me some money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent strimmer Bought this stimmer as I already have other Erbauer products, batteries and charger are compatible. Having tackled the hen enclosure and my half acre garden edging with ease, I can highly recommend this product. Used one and a half batteries only. I have a bush cutter for the fields but this is too severe for the garden. The Erbauer strimmer is a excellent piece of equipment which has replaced an unreliable Black and Decker 32 volt stimmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garden project Bought this to as a back up to my petrol srrimmer for little jobs as the petrol one is big bulky and very heavy, but wow this packs a punch. No problem doing the big jobs on a single charge and is incredibly light and easy to menouver. Looks as though the petrol strimmer is redundant. No more messy petrol and oil top ups, just drop in the battery and off you go. Think the lawn mover could be the next purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job Great product, does the job it was intended for. 1 x 4.0Ah Li-Ion Battery last circa 30 minutes of tough, long, wet grass. Circa 40 minutes on normal grass/weeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good strimmer Bought this along with the mower that takes the same batteries. Batteries last for ages No more electric cords .....fantastic

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What is not to like? I bought this when on offer at Screwfix. I already had bought into the combi drill etc last year, so I had the 5.0 amp hour batteries. My petrol strimmer wouldn’t start, and was increasingly smelly and messy- when it did. So, that ditched, I bought this. What a revelation. This works really well, is easy to assemble from the box and has a great feed feature for the cutting lines ( there are two lines opposite each other) Yes, it probably would struggle with brambles, but as far as grass/ weeds are concerned it cuts through them with ease. It is reasonably heavy- but this , I think, reflects it’s build quality as much as anything. Reliability- time will tell- so 4 stars Value- I think this is excellent on the March 20 deal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Strimmer with no battery Please be aware that you are only buying a strimmer. The battery and charger are extra and will more than double your outlay

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance and value I can't believe how good these Erbauer brushless motors are - seem to go much longer between charges. the strimmer is very light well built and easy to use. Assembly out of the box was 4 screws and took less than 5 mins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Erbauer grass trimmer I have added several Erbauer garden tools to my first investment, the latest being the cordless grass trimmer. The mower came first, so I have two 5Ah batteries to use, giving me a lot of trimming time. The trimmer was in use minutes after delivery, and is light and quiet and no strain to use, unlike my ancient two-stroke machine, which is now mentioned off (like myself...). Adding the torch and mini-vacuum was an inspiration. I hope to buy more tools soon. Thanks for really excellent tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive ! Difficult to believe this is only an 18volt unit as the power is right up there with 36volt trimmers I have used in the past. Using the 5ah battery the brushless motor just keeps on giving when the going gets tough. Build quality is very impressive on a par if not better than more expensive rivals. Only given 3 stars for reliability as I have only used it once but going by other Erbauer kit I have I'm confident it will be good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Strimmer under test Feels good in the hand, nice and lite but solid - head speed is good and it is strimming lawn edges just fine, although it's not got the variable speed or reverse functionality of our Husqvarna battery strimmers - we have just started trialling the Erbauer pole strimmer, hedge trimmer and blower as a replacement to our Huskies and Stihls as we like the multitude of tools all on the one battery concept, but at a fraction of the cost of the Pro-tools - as it stands the quality of performance seems to be good enough, all we need to do now is monitor the longevity, hence the 3 star rating as I can't vouch for this as yet - hope this helps

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for money Bought this grass trimmer recently..have only used it acouple of times but it seems sturdy enough and plenty powerful enough. Infact it seems more powerful than the old mains electric one I had. I particularly went for this brand and model as I already have some erbauer power tools and charger..so it meant that I just had to buy this unit bare without any added costs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value trimmed our lawn really well only used a quarter of the battery. quieter than a petrol strimmer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Erbauer Egt18-Li 18V Li-Ion EX I still have a petrol strimmer but was looking for something much lighter. The unit fits the bill perfectly. I have 4.0Ah batteries for my impact driver so sharing batteries is an excellent feature. Run time is approx 20mins with a fully charged battery. Picture shows handle mid position on top section. i recommend placing the handle next to joint and the unit is perfectly balanced and a treat to use, very light very powerful and quiet, superb build quality as are all Erbauer tools.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very happy so far After a few hours of use I am happy with this product. Lighter, quieter and more manoeuvrable than my old petrol strimmer. Controls etc are basic, but adequate. Impressed by build quality / feel so far. If it stands test of time I will consider it a great value for money buy.

Does the grass trimmer have a variable speed trigger or is It just on / off?

Asked by: Keith66
Hi Keith66, This has variable speed. The instructions state 'Different pressure on the on/off switch results in variable rotating speed of the cutting line. More pressure, higher speed.' Thanks for using Screwfix Q&A. JT

How long does a full charge run for

Asked by: 71TD
Hello 71TD, i can confirm that this is a bare unit and no batterys are supplied however the amp hour on the battery you choose will give a rough estimate for example 3 ah battery would approx last 3 hours with no load. I hope this is useful. Thank you for using Q and A.JB

Replacing line

Where can I find Instructions on how to replace the strimmer line?
Asked by: Blotch
Be careful as the instructions are very ambiguous. The reel has the words 'Wind Cord' and an arrow - which one would naturally assume showed the direction of the cord (clockwise). However, the diagrams on page 6 show the cord going in the opposite direction. One can only assume that it is the REEL that is wound clockwise - causing the cord to actually be wound anti-clockwise.
