Energenie MiHome White eTRV 2 Pack (9325J)

Monitors temperature and adjusts the radiator in accordance to the users settings and rules. MiHome App can create zoned heating areas, which can provide energy savings as it only heats the rooms being used. The MiHome App provides control features including simple on/off, timers and geofencing. Being both a transmitter and receiver, the valve will let the user know when an action has been carried out. Retro-fit valves do not require professional installation. Must be used in conjunction with the MiHome Gateway. Suitable for all boilers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good enough I have used this system for about 3 years and have never had a single year without a problem. The eTRVs often do not react to the planned programme so either a rad does not switch on when it should or switches on when the temp is supposed to be set low and heats the room up to 28 degs plus. So not only are they unreliable I have now had some bases fail because the plastic base has got brittle. Simply not worth the money and there are better less expensive options available. Search a common on line trader for eTRVs and you will see app controlled bluetooth options which as far more reliable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Getting around a problem House has a bay window which catches the sun, when it does the standard mechanical head was too slow to react, so common to hit 27C, vast improvement set at 20C still hits 22C, but such an improvement. The anti-hysteresis is a tad too good, set to lift temperature in morning 16 to 20C at 8am would be 10:30 before reached it, however set to 22C for hour then back to 20C it works a treat. That good I have bought a second pair so now 4 rooms controlled with these, I have not installed nest so can't say how that works, but except for sun, which is nothing to do with heads, set to 20C it goes to 20C no more guessing what temp number 4 is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Energenie eTrv I've got 8 of these in a 3 floor house with 2 gateways. They are sensitive to installation - it's essential to get supplied spacers right (if the head sits too high on the valve body it won't be able to shut the radiator off, and you get erratic control) but once they're properly set up they just work. Integrates niceley with Alexa, and if you're comfortable doing a bit of Python programming on a Raspberry Pi you can do all the control locally with a Pimote-RT and a home automation package such as Openhab.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Energenie working well. Bought 2 radiator stats. Took a bit of setting up but once settled down they work well. They work even better if you have a nest thermostat. The energenie radiator valves follow the temperature of the nest. A cool feature. They follow IFTTT commands too.

Can you use this with a Nest Thermostat without additional Bridges

Asked by: lace132
Our Smart Radiator Valves will only function with our MiHome Gateway. In addition, Nest now only allow integration via the Google Assistant, so a Google Assistant (either a physical device or on your phone) will need to be set up, which can then control both the Nest Thermostat and our Smart Radiator Valves. If you require more assistance, I suggest you contact our support team here: https://sandal.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

Multi point boiler interlock

Can these TRVs independently turn the boiler on and off, or do they still rely on Nest Thermostat to do that?
Asked by: DIYingPete
Hi DIYing Pete, the valves themselves have no physical connection to the boiler. To interlock based on a single valve you need to use the MiHome radiator valves, MiHome Thermostat and MiHome Gateway. This will then allow each TRV to manually call and shut off the boiler. Hope this helps, the Energenie team

Does this works with towel radiators?

I’ve already installed a towel radiator but the only way to turn it on and off is at the fuse board. Is this product compatible with electric towel radiators?
Asked by: Pilcherlucy
Hi Pilchelucy, No i'm afraid this product is only for controlling hot water fed radiators. To control an electric towel rail you could use our in-line relay [MIHO014]. This would be fitted between the towel radiator and the fuse board in conjunction with a fused spur or flex connection unit. A qualified electrician should undertake this work. You will also need a MiHome Gateway to control the relay. Once set up you can set timers and programs for your towel rail within the MiHome App, and of course switch it on and off manually from both the App and the relay itself. I hope this hleps, kind regards the Energenie Team

Work with echo plus?

Will these work with Amazon Echo plus or do they need a hub as well? Thank you
Asked by: MickandChris
Dear MickandChris, Yes they require the MiHome Hub. This is the case for most Echo Plus compatible products such as Phillips Hue and Hive as the Plus does not support all functions and cannot provide firmware updates, so you still need the respective Hubs to do this. Kind regards the Energenie team

Manual control ?

Do you know if these can be controlled manually....i.e. if you want to simply notch the temp up or down whilst walking past and not having a phone to hand. ?
Asked by: stevie876543
Dear Stevie, thanks for asking about local control on our Smart Radiator Valves. Each valve has a boost button which will fully open the valve for one hour when pressed. After the hour, the valve will return to running the last command issued. Kind regards the Energenie team
