add to existing hub

one of the sockets we bought in the hub + 3 sockets kit has stopped working. if we buy an energie mihome socket will it work with our existing hub ?
Asked by: johnclark
Hi, any of our MiHome products will work with the MIHO001 from your starter kit (with the exception of the MIHO109 which requires a WiFi connection only). You can have up to 30 devices paired to and controllable with the hub. Thank You

Adding Kwh costs

Can I add my electricity Kwh charge? There's a £ usage on the dashboard, where does it get it's cost info from?
Asked by: Burnig
Dear Burnig, you can add your unit cost per kWh when you create your account. If you did not set this at that tme, you can visit the MiHome portal to change it at any time. Visit https://mihome4u.co.uk/login and sign in with your username and password associated with your account. Once logged in, click "My Account" from the options at the top of the screen. Underneath your password is a space to add your unit cost. Be sure to click "update my details" at the bottom of the page when done. If you then log out and back in to the App your costs will now be showing correctly. Kind regards the Energenie team

What is the Open Things Interface?

The monitor will transmit the following data every 10 seconds over its OpenThings interface: - Active(real) power, P, (Watts) - Reactive power, Q, (VAr) - Voltage, V (Volts) - Frequency (Hertz) How? Can't find out how to measure volts.
Asked by: gw7mgw
Dear gw7mgw, the openthings interface is the communication channel by which the data is sent. All of the readings are aggregated in to an energy usage value which is displayed as kWh and costs in your local currency. Knd regards, the Energenie team.

Future developments?

Are there plans to increase the amperage from 13 to (say) 16, thus allowing higher wattage appliances to be monitored (like my hot tub)? I note a previous reply suggesting using the 1648H, but...
Asked by: EddyAB
Hi EddyAB, thanks for your question. No plans to extend energy monitoring past the current 13Amps in our smart plugs and using the whole house energy monitor [4648H] would require you to split out the live and neutral so not ideal either. Sorry that we cannot help in this case, kind regards the Energenie team

Can the plug monitor amps used without Gateway

Can I monitor amps used on appliance without having the MiHome Gateway (Code 2023H).
Asked by: KB1234
Dear KB1234, thanks for asking about the MiHome monitor. It does require the gateway to work as it is an internet enabled product. If you are looking for a simple power meter may i recommend ENER007 [Screwfix item 3477H) which is easy to plug in and read power usage for the connected appliance. Kind regards, the Energenie team
