Monitor only kit that includes 2 x MiHome monitor adaptors, the MiHome Whole House Monitor and the MiHome Gateway. Monitor adaptor allows to measure the amount of electricity being used by the appliance whereas the Whole House Monitor observes the energy of entire household by clamping to consumer unit tails. By using the MiHome App you are able to group and explore how much energy is being used by the different adaptors. App also shows this data over time and the cost by using electricity tariff. Must be used in conjunction with the MiHome Gateway (included). For indoor use only.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Better systems available I have had the energenie system in my house now for approx three years. I have two switches, ten adaptors, a contactor, which is not suitable for an immersion it needs to switch a secondary contactor! Two sensors and a thermostat. I also install other systems for customers. In the three years I have had it, I've had one 1 gang switch stop working and two of the contactors burn out.Also the thermostat used to drain batteries but hands up it was swapped and t Now the battery life is brilliant.(in excess of a year on one battery change) I find I often wake in the morning to find none of the timers have triggered and have to open the app refresh the app and manually switch things on. Alexa picks up the items effortlessly and switches most things on at one request. It's very easy to set up and just requires a press on the pairing button and is a new item in paired very quickly. The problem is that for some reason the whole system seems to disappear and needs the app opening. Sadly I am going to be removing all the items in the system and replacing them with another as it just isn't reliable. Sorry energenie you are going on the banned list

Can the devices be turned on and off remotely as well as energy use monitored?

Can these monitor energy usage and control the switch/plug?

Hi and thanks for your question. This set is purely for monitoring energy usage. If you wish to also turn devices on or off then instead go for the MiHome Gateway [2023H) Whole House Energy monitor [4648H] and 2 x Adapter Plus Smart Plug [5642H]. This is around 10% higher cost but you will have the ability to switch on/off the devices plugged in to the smartplugs as well as all of the energy monitoring. kind regards the energenie Team
