Rated 2 out of 5 by from This is not a dimmer Works well as a 2 gang switch but doesn’t dim unfortunately. The product information needs updating / correcting. I haven’t had it long so I couldn’t give it more than two stars for reliability. As for performance it’s a little slow at times(when used with the app) and also when you switch one switch on you have to give it a couple of seconds before you can use the 2nd switch or turn the one off you’ve turned on.

Why don't Screwfix sell the MiHome Gateway by itself

I don't want to buy a bundle to get the MiHome Gateway - I just want wall switches I can use without a neutral wire.
Asked by: gloucesterman
Hi, Screwfix do sell the MIHO001 separately to the bundles but they are currently out of stock and we are awaiting an order from them.

will it pair with a Heatmiser UH8-R

Asked by: visionary
Hi and thank you for your question. I'm afraid this won't pair with a Heatmiser UH8. To use our 2-gang light switch you would also need the MiHome Gateway. Once you have a MiHome gateway and products installed it may be possible to have them work alongside Heatmiser using the IFTTT applets. Hope this helps.

No neutral

I know it says no extra wiring but how does the WiFi work without a neutral wire. Most lighting circuits don't have a neutral at the switch.
Asked by: qwertyu
The switch does not need a neutral wire however it is not Wifi it is a local RF and needs our hub to function

Is this suitable for two sets of 5 non-dimmable LED G9 bulbs?

Assuming the 50W max for LEDs is per gang (rather than overall)? Checking that I would have to replace my G9 bulbs with dimmable one's (why do they have to be dimmable for a switch?) Can you reccommed suitable G9 bulbs for use with this product?
Asked by: dmwarren2
The dimmable bulbs have a smaller in-rush current and will not damage a smart light switch when switched on. We have tested with several G9 bulbs with only the Philips Master G9 bulb being reliable (tested February 2019). Please note that you may be able to use other G9 bulbs but these may require the addition of a Resload in the circuit (e.g. Danlers 10 Ohm resistive load). An example of this (including a user guide with wiring example) can be found on the TLC-direct.co.uk website. If you have any further questions regarding this, you can contact our technical department by email at enquiries@energenie4u.co.uk. They will be happy to help with any questions relating to our products. Thank You

Does this work with the echo plus built in hub ?

Asked by: Sonic1
Dear Sonic, no you need the MiHome Gateway to use this product via the internet. It is then controllable by App, Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The part number for the hub you need is MIHO001, also available at Screwfix. Kind regards the Energenie team
