Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Tool My combo drill did not quite have the power to fully drive the screws all the way home into Hardie Backer board, but this little beast had no problems doing the job. I have most of the dewalt cordless range and this is a must have if you don't already have one.

Does this item come in a plastic storage case?

Asked by: PerkyBob
Hi PerkyBob, No they don't, most bare unit products just come in a card box. This is one of them. The products that come with batteries and chargers do come in plastic kit boxes.

Would the 18v 2.0A batteries from my dcd795d2 Combi drill be suitable for this or would there be a better option?

Asked by: Kevinthegerbil
Hi There, Yes these batteries are perfectly fine for the impact driver, the only reason for bigger Ah batteries are to give you longer runtimes, so people that will be using the tools for very long periods of time get get the best runtime between charges.

Battery type

Will my 1.8v 1.3Ah battery fit & also work with this? Or would i need different batteries?
Asked by: djfunk
Hi There As long as your 18V 1.3Ah batteries are the slide pack XR Li-Ion batteries then yes you will have no problems with these fitting the DCF886 Impact Driver. The only thing you may require if you are using the Impact Driver for long periods would be to get a bigger Ah battery for longer runtimes.

Do I need to buy any bits?

With a drill you need to buy a bit set to actually achieve anything. Do I need that with an impact Driver? It clear states that it uses a 1/4" hex chuck, but is that actually just the standard hex screwdriver bit, and thus I can use any of the numerous interchangeable screw bits that I have lying around from other tools? If it needs a specific set of bits, then do you have recommendations?
Asked by: Brondahl
Hi There You can use any standard hex bits but due to the power of the Impact Driver then they might not last that long. For use with an Impact Driver I would recommend 7045F as these bit are heat treated and hardened to be able to handle the high torque from an Impact Driver. Bits designed for an Impact Driver on average last over 5 times longer than standard screwdriver bits.
