Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, dry & waterproof well worth the loot. i have had 5 pairs in my career to date. a sight more comfortable than the std company offerings. a history; Chally2s were goretex & great for wide feet. Black Challenger3s were sympatex & equally good fit dry & waterproof. Expect 18-24mths of use, replacing the laces at 12mths. Most recent pair (14mths ago) were only available in brown; These were not labelled as 3s & are snug across the toes. Durability is same as before. Brown boots mark worse & look scruffy faster. Great for walking the dogs as well. Will I buy again? yes, and in black..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from comfortable I was hesitant about buying these as they were the most expensive of my shortlist. having ordered about 5 different models to compare, these were the most comfortable (princess and glass slipper anyone?) so I sent the rest back and got refunds. These proved to be very comfortable for long periods - with a change of insoles to a shock absorbing (sorbothane cush'n'step) model. My two points of negativity are: they are a bit on the warm side - even though I suffer from cold feet most of the year!; and They don't seem to be "waterproof" as they claim to be - I spent about an hour and a half walking rainy streets at 2 months old and my socks were soaked after about 20-30 mins. The hot property meant that my feet were warm although wet. In Summary, good points - comfortable, Bad points - not waterproof, and hot! Would I buy them again? Looks like it as every thing that claims to be waterproof gets a "not waterproof" comment in the reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots, worth the cost A bit more expensive than the kind of boots I'd usually go for, but these look and feel solid, they're protective, water resistant and comfortable to wear for hours on end. Not had any issues with grip on slippery surfaces and have been wearing them comfortably both with and without thick socks. I've only had them for a month or so, but have no reason to believe that they won't last a good few years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent boots I work in vehicle workshops all day where protective footwear is mandatory. I also have wide feet so trying to find comfortable boots is a trial but these DeWalt's were comfortable and flexible right out of the box. Only been wearing them a couple of days but don't even need thick socks, just a regular pair of thin merino wool socks and my feet have been warm and dry. They don't feel especially heavy and even after 12 hours in them my feet are happy. The workshop has been particularly wet from snow melt off the cars the last few days but the non-slip sole on these boots has been great and I have not had any slips or skids, even where there is oil or anti-freeze on the floor. Get yourself a pair - you won't be disappointed.

Why have they changed from gore-tex to sympatex? The challenger 2 boots were far far better
