Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beware minor design fault I have used these boxes before but never had to feed the inlet and outlet 2.5 mm cables through the top knockout before. What a struggle! With the grommet in place and six wires passing through it, it a real struggle to close the cover because the body of the unit takes up too much space and does not allow much room for the wires. Apart from that, I would recommend this unit to anyone,

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap and nasty fitted nearly over 60 of these bought bulk . The back box is super tight anything over 2.5mm would be too much for this . The rcd front plate almost fills the entire back box leaving now space for the cables . Bad design on BG's part. Will leave you frustrated and swearing all day long fitting these. Ive had units with the weld broken off the neutral, continuity between live and neutral and lugs broken off. So definitely a cheap unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very tight back box Due to the size of the RCD unit it is an extremely tight fit when using the metal housing provided, more so when connecting SWA & earthing. Apart from that it does what it says on the tin.

Use for plug with a hot tub

Could this be used to wire in a plug in hot tub ?
Asked by: Phil2507
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. The maximum constant power flow capacity of the RCD protected FCU is 13A or 3120W (3.12kW), so as long as your hot tub uses less than this amount of power then it should be a suitable load.

Would this be suitable to run a tumble dryer through?

Asked by: Badger04
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. This British General 13A Fused Spur Metal-Clad is rated for a constant power flow of up to 3120W (3.12kW) so as long as your tumble dryer is below this level or power consumption it should cause no problems to the spur.
