Rated 4 out of 5 by from underlay for laminate just the job for floors that have a concrete base, also works well on wood floors. give a nice cushion effect to the floor as well as thermal insulation and damp proofing. easy to lay with generous overlay between each strip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Piece of cake This underlay made laying a boen oiled oak floor a breeze. It's a bit more expensive but it's a great quality product and actually per meter a very good price. Do not hesitate. Only reason not to give reliability a 5 star is we only laid at the weekend! So to early to really say

Can I tile directly onto this underlay and also have underneath carpet?

Asked by: Jc2906
No - This underlay is not designed to support tiles - it is not hard enough ! No - This underlay is not suitable for carpets - only rigid boards where the loading is spread over a wider area

Can this be used for damp proofing on walls (in cellar) and beneath concrete?

I would like to use this on the cellar floor before I lay the concrete on top. I would also like to use the product on the cellar walls for damp proofing and then plaster boarding with glue I will attach the membrane using damp proof wall plugs and then glue the plasterboards on top.
Asked by: fayaz
Not the intended application - However, the membrane is tested to EN 13967 meaning that it is completely waterproof and is the same as a damp course membrane sheet which is completely unaffected beneath concrete - for the foam the maximum static loading of this foam is 250kg/m2 so to maintain the insulation value and all other properties you must not exceed this weight limit - so be careful with the depth of concrete to be laid on top if the thermal insulation properties are required.
