You can’t use the socket when the cooker switch is turned off - it disconnects the feed to the socket as well. I bought one based on the answer given by Screwfix to my original question and it does exactly the same as the one it replaced.
I suspect the cooker switches with the socket on the right hand side do stay on but that’s not what I want.
I suggest Screwfix check with the manufacturer before answering these questions - it would save the customer time and money.
