They also form the junctions between construction materials potentially covering untidy or uneven joins or for concealing objects. Usually made from a wooden or high-density vinyl material and positioned at the lowest part of an interior wall they cover the joint between the wall surface and the floor. As well as being functional skirting can also serve as a decorative item too. Most are finished with a smooth surface primed and ready to decorate.
