Rated 5 out of 5Â by Hangman Woodstar IV60 104cm Log Splitt
Received this splitter and had it up and running in less than one hour. Handled everything I could throw at it, splitting with ease the logs that the axe could not handle (i have some BIG logs. Good study German construction, good ergonomic working height.Had no problem running off a standard 13 amp fuse as it pulls less than than the 3 kw stated. I have no regrets at all and my log shed is looking good after one day of use. I purchased a cheaper horizontal machine which broke after 2 day's use and was returned...luckily for me as this one is far superior . I am confident that this will give me many years good service.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Ihavewood Best Log splitter
Does exactly what it says on the box. Splits wood easily and quickly. Very sturdy and easy to move around. Runs off a 13amp plug (has a fused 16amp motor connection) I have split alot of wood with this and it is great without spending silly money.
You must remember to loosen or remove the vent cap(dip stick cap) when actually using the splitter.
Also remember to keep the blade lightly greased when using it.
I also use this machine to crush 20 litre oil containers flat using a metal plate adapter under the blade. It works fantasticly.
Very quiet running motor which is fan cooled and the safety bars are very good as you can not move the blade without both hands on each grip. The metal plate at the bottom has a surface to prevent the logs from slipping and is very strong and large enough to support the biggest logs with ease.
Took less than 5 mins to put wheels on and the arms when I collected it.
Please note you will need some 1.5mm 3 core cable to wire upto the socket on the machine and a 13amp plug. I used 1.0mm and the cable stays stone cold when being used heavily, so loading is not a problem over the lower 1.0mm cable.
You will not be disappointed buying this product and for under £500 it is alot of machine for your money.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by treehousepig top heavy 16amps
screwfix web site says this is suitable for connection to a 13amp (therefore home) supply. The instructions say 16 amps are required. Can't find that in my garage. This product is very heavy,105kg or 17 stone. If it wasn't for the help of the driver I'd never got it in the house. When assembled its dangerously top heavy, close it down if you have children. Assembly instructions are not clear. Instructions warn you not to move it across uneven ground! odd for a wood splitter usually used outdoors. cutting wood - failed to split bigger 30cm diameter log, blade just got stuck in. split smaller ones after one or two attempts. so far an axe wins!
