Is it possible to shorten the length of the pipe going to the float?

The range of movement of the float from on to off is too great in standard form. Is it possible to tie it up somehow to reduce the distance?
Asked by: Boylie
Hello Boylie. Unfortunately you cannot shorten the pipe connected to the float switch. Thank you for using Q&A, [BH].

Can plug be removed so as to thread cable to a an outdoor wall socket

Asked by: Intermevan
Hello, Unfortunately we are unable to give advice along these lines for this product however the instruction manual for the product states "Only fit an approved 13 Amp BS 1363 or BS 1363/A plug and the correctly rated fuse." If ever in doubt we would always recommend contacting a qualified electricial. Thank you for using Q&A.

Submerged in clean water

Looking to use this pump in a 250l barrel to empty water from a fish tank (overflowing into the barrel). Would this be ok to be sat in the barrel and in theory be submerged for a few hours per day?
Asked by: Lukethegti
Hi Lukethegti, This product is able to be submerged in clean water. However in the instructions it states that you should let the product rest for 10 minutes for every hour of use. Thank you for using Q&A. JBT

Hello I was wondering if this pump has a pressure switch so it will stop pumping when the vessel being pumped into is full?

I'm after is a pump that I can fit inline or inside an IBC container to supply minimum 12l/min of water to a jet wash with a small tank, our mains pressure is not sufficient to keep up with the jet wash, keeps emptying tank!
Asked by: Jimlaa
Hi Jimlaa, This pump does not have a pressure switch. The on-off function is controlled by the float switch. If the water is deep enough, the switch will float and turn the pump on. The pump will switch itself off once the water level drops to a low level. The pump is not suitable for continuous use. Thank you for using Q&A. PB
