Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, basic dehumidifier I got this to reduce the condensation on the windows throughout the house, and in just a few days of continuous running it has done just that. It now runs on the humidistat and only kicks in occasionally. In my case (ambient temperature about 20degC) the running power is around 180 to 190 watts, so when running constantly the daily consumption is only about 4.5kWhr, hardly something that is going to break the bank! The unit is quiet enough to leave running all the time, at least in our house. I've used it both using the built in reservoir and the continuous drain. To do the latter all you have to do is remove a plastic cover (part of the molding so once you've removed it that will always be a hole in the back) and then push a standard piece of garden hose over a spigot. Simples My only grumble is that it comes with wheels but without rubber (or similar) feet for leaving on a hard surface, I've put ours up on a worktop and I didn't want it rolling off! The wheels can be easily removed, just a couple of philips screws in each, but in the absence of some rubber feet on the base I had to resort to some self-adhesive felt pads. Overall it does a great job, isn't too expensive or noisy and doesn't cost too much to run

Rated 3 out of 5 by from unwanted feature! On our second unit as the first failed to cut out when the tank was full. Unfortunately this deposited several litres of water back into the carpet before we noticed. Quiet in operation and certainly pulls the water out, just be careful it doesn't re-distribute it as ours did, 2nd unit now in a plastic tank until it proves itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product - I have 4 I am a landlord with a couple of properties built in the early 1900's in my portfolio, my own home was built in 1806. I have two of these dehumidifiers in my own house, and I have two in two of these in my old solid brick rental properties. Multiple Occupancy properties always have problems with condensation, and these dehumidifiers take care of that easily. Would definatly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works .Definitely reccomend My unit works really well. It has sucked up 10 ltrs of water in 3 days, which is less than stated but more than anticipated, as all the moisture was in the floor. The carpet felt dry with bare feet after just one day after a leaking radiator had soaked the thing. If I sleep in a damp environment, I quickly get a chest infection, so this unit has prevented that happening and has therefore saved me from losing pay. Mine is quiet, but it seems some are noisy from the comments I've read. If the noise would be an issue for you, I suggest collecting it from a trade counter and testing it in store.

Hello. This dehumidifier is designed for domestic use and as long as your loft does not suffer extreme conditions then there shouldn't be a problem. However, without knowing your exact circumstances it is impossible to confirm this. If you email online@screwfix.com or phone 03330 112112 we can send you the instructions. Hope that helps.

Thank you for using Q&A.

Remote control

I wish to plug this into an internet enabled 13A socket. The de-humidifier has a switch. Does this mean that once I set the switch to 'On' I can turn the unit on & off remotely & it will not require any other switch setting on the dehumidifier?

Answer:
Hello MysticMilo,

Going by the instructions the product should start up once the power is supplied.

Once the dehumidifier is set, it will attempt to remove the moisture in the room until it reaches the set humidity setting.

It can also be set to continuously drain removing any need for the tray to be emptied.

For more information or a copy of the instructions please email online@screwfix.com.

I hope this information helps.

Thank you for using Q and A.

Which dehumidifier?

I live in a 3 bed house which suffers from bad condensation, particularly upstairs. Also there is mould in the bathroom and one of the bedrooms as a result of the condensation. Is there much difference between this model and the other prices at £99.99?

Answer:
Hello there. This is dependent on several factors such as the size of the rooms, amount of humidity etc. This dehumidifier is at the smaller end of the ones we sell so may well need to be moved around the property to be effective. Hope that helps.
