Rated 2 out of 5 by from Oh dear! I have recently acquired three of these Victorian style covers and initially they appeared to be well finished and quite sturdy, which was true when they were first installed during late summer or autumn. But please be warned - when the central heating is turned on at the onset of winter; it is then that disaster strikes! I have two covers at 1220 long and one 820 long; all now exhibit distorted top shelves – bowing upwards. This bowing has caused tapered gaps to appear at each end where the top shelf abuts the main front panel and this distortion will not straighten when the radiators cool down. It is irreversible. The only solution is to screw a metal stiffener to the underside of the top shelf – an aluminium angle extrusion or a small RSA of some sort!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Build Quality and Value Having previously purchased MDF radiator covers from other sources I was a bit wary about what the quality of this product would be like. I needn't have been. This is a really nice product. Good external finish which looks like it will last well in a busy hallway with toddlers running around. It is extremely easy to put together - about 30seconds without tools and the build quality is good. The only thing you need tools for is the wall mountings. Overall great value for money.

Are these freestanding

Do they have to be affixed to the wall?

radiator cover depth

The depth of the radiator cover appears to be 20 cm as it is for a narrow hallway I am wondering if I can cut down the back of the cover to make it more slimline without effecting the fixtures that are used to attache it to the wall?
Asked by: lottie1
Hello, We cannot recommend that you alter the product. It will void any warranty, may effect the fixings and may not sit correctly once modified.
