Rated 3 out of 5 by NOT the LoCarbon Model... I have been onto Vent-Axia asking about this. Reson being that having bought the 100H I looked on the Vent-Axia website where it says the Lo-Carbon models are 100B, 100T and 100HT. I wrote to them asking about the 100H - this is their reply to the 100H: "In the Lo Carbon Range we sell the Silhouette 100 HT and in the non Lo Carbon Range Silhouette 100H " I have not actually installed it hence the mediocre review - this is to highlight that it's not what is actually being advertised. A quick look for the 100H on the Vent-Axia website comes back that it's not a lo-carbon one - indeed they don't seem to be selling it, which they do their other ones. Also all the Stats on the Screwfix page are INCORRECT. They should be: xtraction Rate 75m³/hr NOT 95m³/hr Noise Level 38dBA at 3m NOT 32dBA at 3m 14W Not 6W Power Consumption 21 Jan 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Top Hi spec fan A bit pricey, but excellent fan. Humidistat and timer built into a very low profile fan. Ideal for damp bathrooms (or as my customer has 3 kids showering twice a day) Very quiet too 22 May 2011

Wiring Requirement

Can anyone advise me what wiring is required to operate this unit?

My current wiring has only one switched live, which I can adapt to permanent, and I am aware that I need a permanent and a switched live to operate the timer. But will a single permanent live operate the unit's humidistat and timer successfully? In other words, will the actuation of the humidistat trigger the timer?

I'm confused as to what I've actually bought. The Fan reference 100H is described as being a LoCarbon model saving 75% on the previous model and only uses 6w of electricity. Now that the fan is installed I find that it does not come on automatically when the shower is on. Also the sticker inside the unit says that it is a 100HT model reference 454057B and is rated at 16w.

I would like to know if the 100H model I've bought has adjustable Time and Humidity Settings as described in the Information Leaflet supplied with the fan. if so I should be able to remove the inner cap of the fan away from the chassis to access the control settings.

Also the factsheet for this product says that a 5 Year Guarantee is provided but the Information Leaflet says 2 Years...which is correct?

Please let me have your considered opinion on my concerns.

Answer:
I have just received one and yes it does appear to be the low carbon fan as advertsed. It seems like a good fan but the backdraft shutters are a bit light/flimsy so be careful when installing.
