Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent worktop jig I bought this jig to cut mitre joints and slots for Screwfix worktop clamps. It is not the cheapest jig on the market but it is undoubtedly the best quality. If you are going to cut expensive worktops you might as well use the best jig available. The price Screwfix charged was very competitive, plus the fact my local store had more than 1 in stock. Picking it up on a Sunday was also a bonus. I used the jig with a DeWalt router with a 30mm guide and a 12.5mm router bit. The with care and patience the results were excellent. I even used the guide to cut the aperture for the inset sink. A highly recommended piece of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product but take care well made and thought out - very easy to use with good instructions. First time user with this jig saw perfect joints! BUT watch out for one thing and thats when you are routing a masons mitre on a work top, half the jig is hanging over the edge unsupported. Because the unsupported section is adjacent to the long slot the jig flexes when you press down with the router. Given the router will be 1/2" it will be heavy and what happens if you are not careful is the router cutter undercuts due to the flexing meaning you dont get a square cut edge. This means if you are routing from the back face of the worktop, the joint wont go together perfectly. To eradicate this issue, make sure the router is pressed down more on the worktop side as you push it along - basic routing rules which I had forgotten! Trend do warn in the instructions about this, I'm in a woodworking related trade and I still got caught out on the first cut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent product Matched this with a Makita half inch router and Titan cutters to rout a post formed joint on kitchen worktop. Good strong product which gave me the confidence to complete the job. Use a strong set of clamps to secure it!

Will this do curves in a breakfast bar
Asked by: chidge
This jig has two radius cuts of 40mm and 100mm which can be used for breakfast bars. It also has a peninsular cut of 400mm radius which can also be used for breakfast bars.

Hi, Could anybody tell me what size guide bush( guide on the router base :) ) this jig requires?

ie 25mm, 27mm, 30mm?
Asked by: LJ88
The worktop jig requires a 30mm guide bush to be fitted onto the bottom of the router. The guide bush will need to be concentric to the 12.7mm diameter router cutter.
