My plan was to use this bit to follow a pattern on hardwood. I had a lot of trouble with the bit. It didnt want to cut the wod no matter how much I tried. I was using it in a router table set up and when ever I would offer the wood to the bit, it would just push the piece instead of cutting.
I may have just had a bad bit. I did return it and got my money back so its not all bad.

Good, sharp, router bit. Definitely worth the extra and going for the half inch shank.

GIven the other review I was really hesitant to buy this particular router bit but it was exactly the size I needed and I couldn't find an alternative. I have not regretted it. It is a substantial router bit that is solidly made and so far has worked seamlessly. I use it with a 2kW router which I would recommend given the amount of wood this bit can remove in one pass. I have several other Trend router bits that have also been very reliable so perhaps the other reviewer had a bit of bad luck.
It is an expensive bit but I think that it was worth the money (very good, not exceptional for value).

Used this once, didn't last, the bearing on this burnt out within five mins resulting in damage to the work piece
