Rated 2 out of 5 by Avoid -splash out an extra 50p Very difficult to use on 4mm^2 3c SWA. The taper on the backnut is too short and too step - it tends to push the armour back out of the gland rather than bite and clamp it. Splash out the extra bit on the IP66 glands even if for indoor use, they are much better! 9 May 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Insecure clamping and unsafe These MAY have worked for some people but, like other reviewers, I found that these glands were apparently good quality but they simply do not grip the armour and, therefore, leave the earth connection unsound, especially if you are using the armour as the CPC. This is dangerous because someone who doesn't realise could easily be making an unsafe connection. I am actually not sure that there are not some parts missing. Other such glands have a ring, like a plumbing olive, that grips the wire armour within the body. Such an item is not present with these, although the description perhaps implies that there should be. I'm afraid that these will be going back. 19 Dec 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by gland not tight Like another review I could not clamp the armour shroud tightly. In fact I turned down the clamp nut in the lathe,Is there supposed to be a clamp ring or am I missing something? Still not clamped tightly as much as I would like. Have I done something wrong.Should I have used 20 S ? Small ? Helping qualified spark,by the way. 14 Nov 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good quality A great quality gland for the money. It does what it's meant to do ! 12 Sep 2015

Answer:
I had the same question, so I did a bit of research and found that they are both made to fit into a 20mm cutout, hence the name.
20S will take a cable of 16mm maximum outside diameter and 11.6 maximum inner PVC diameter.
20L (or 20) will take up to 20mm outside diameter and up to 14mm inner PVC diameter.
Choose the smallest one that will fit your cable.
