Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple effective professional Having not used conduit before, I read a number of reviews to understand what each part did. I have attempted to answer my own questions in this review, in hope that someone else with the same questions will understand how simple these items are. Basically, I have multiple junction boxes and want to connect each box together using conduit so that the cables are fully concealed and protected. I was unsure whether to buy a male or female connector, and if I needed a coupler or not. After some researching I purchased just the female adaptors. These were exactly what i needed. I had purchased the IP65 rated junction boxes which have M20 knockout holes. The screw element of the female adaptor is pushed through the knockout hole from the inside of the box and the other part then screws onto the thread from the outside. There is no need for a coupler either, as once the adaptor is connected to the junction box, the conduit pipe just slots into the adaptor. By this what i mean is that the adaptor is slightly larger than the pipe itself, so the pipe slots in, nice a tightly. I haven't decided whether or not to use cement to permanently connect the pipe to the adaptor, but as i have the box above the pipe, no water would get in anyway and the fit is snug. All in all, a very simple, cheap and professionally looking solution for protecting and concealing cable runs. The only point to note, similar to other reviews, is that the thread isn't that long. Maybe 10mm. This does get through the junction box wall, but ideally it would be slightly longer to give a little more play when fitting. I will be using this outdoors, and have no concerns (as yet) that there would be any issues.
