Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can't turn it up or down Easy to fit (no screws included) but because of the angle at the end of the bolt the handle can not be pushed up or down into the locking position when closed. Suppose it will do for now and at such a cheap price I will put up with the lever sticking out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it says good but don't over tighten the screws as will stop the movement of the latch

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lightweight bolt Bought this to replace a 100mm plain bolt fitted to outward opening timber door which had been forced. Bolt had ripped through timber as it was too close to edge so bought this necked bolt thinking it would be a stronger hole with the surface plate supplied. Disappointed at the quality, the back plate is quite thin and bends easily. Not suitable for fixing vertically upwards, any slight movement in the door and the bolt drops as its a sloppy slide action. My fault poor selection but needed something quick. Replaced it with one of the spring-loaded bolts, 85965 different as chalk and cheese. To be fair this should work OK horizontally but should not be relied on for security purposes.

How does a necked Tower Bolt work

When the bolt is latched, the bolt head travels in an arc. There is only one fixed hole so how does it work? Colin
Asked by: Suey
Hello Colin. The latch keeper is fixed in place facing the bolt, (at 90 degrees) so the bolt itself just slides straight in to keeper. Hope that helps.
