Rated 2 out of 5 by Let down by details Although this router seems like good value, I could not recommend it as it is let down by serious design flaws. Firstly, and crucially, the router bit is not held perpendicular to the bottom face, meaning that all cuts are at an angle. Secondly, the 30mm guide bush supplied is not centred properly, so that cuts on one side are closer to the template than cuts on the othersise. Also, the 30mm guide bush is not 30mm, but nearer to 28mm, so there is excessive "slop" when running down a template. Also, the plung action is not smooth, which makes controlling the depth dificult. This is compounded by the depth gauge and the stop being one-in-the-same. Even worse, using a standard 12.7mm cutter, the cutter can't be lifted above the cutting surface, making the 'zero' position impossible to find, and also meaning that cutting starts before the guide bush in seated into the templates. Lastly, the plunge lock lever has poor action, meaning that it's difficult to set without changing the plung depth. So, save your money and buy a better (more expensive router). Screwfix has a great range, so pick a better one! 1 Aug 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by If only carlsberg made routers Bought the Titan router through recommendation from a friend (who needs enemies?) Because of the value for money and the fact I don't use one very often to warrant an expensive brand. Anyhoo while setting the plunge was a task in hand ( t'was solid , had to force and yes the nut was loose !) The ruddy thing decided to throw the bit even though was tightly fixed, I popped it back in and continued trimming 12mm air dried oak with 1/2" bit on recommended speed. The noise and vibration is embarrassing !! I managed few inches then it cut out. It didn't have a burning hot motor as you'd expect from a cheapie , just dead ! I should've bought erbauer !! 30 Jul 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Problems with this router I have made around 6 cuts with this router and bits keep falling off it. First attempt at using it a screw came loose from around the collet area dropped down and mangled my new 1/2" cutter. The screw was re installed. On another occasion the handle for locking the depth of cut fell off. . The sliding Metered spindle thing came apart. Not a happy chappy. 17 Jul 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor quality control I imagine this is quite a nice tool if you're lucky enough to get a good one, I wasn't. The one I bought had a problem plunging. Sometimes it was stiff and sometimes it wouldn't plunge at all. It would also stick whilst fully plunged and pop back out when it felt like it. I think one of the legs is bent. This is all quite dangerous when you have a cutting bit spinning at several thousand rpm. I will have to return it. 4 Jul 2016

On 7 Jun 016 Screwfix said: "this will only accept 1/4" bit as this does not come with a 1/2" collet"

The listing for this tool states a 1/4" collet in the description and a 1/2" collet in the Specifications section.

What does the actual box say?

Answer:
Hi Shedme,

There is a 1/4" collet included, and router bits with a 1/2" shank can be inserted directly into the router without an additional collet. I hope that clears things up!

Thank you for using Q&A

Hi, have used this router lots and find it a great piece of equipment. However having lent it to someone the parallel guide came back damaged and wonder if any other brand would fit to replace it.

Answer:
Hello MGB84.

Unfortunately we do not sell spare parallel guides for this router, we have no way of testing if other parallel guides from other brands would fit your router.

Thank you for using Question and Answer.
